1001 Jigsaw Detective is a basic browser/Flash/mobile-app like jigsaw puzzle game. Solve various jigsaw puzzles made up from images that the "developer" stole off the Internet and used without crediting the actual creators, making this plagiarism, as well as an asset flip and a cash grab. An example of the "borrowed" uncredited/plagiarised artwork is "Portrait of a handsome man grandee in 16th century costume", stolen from ShutterStock. Sure, the image rights may allow the stock image to be used without credit, but claiming credit for the work of others, as is happening here, is unethical, and the creative and intellectual bankruptcy going on here is unacceptable. So what we have here is a basic jigsaw puzzle engine that's been skinned with a bunch of photos stolen off the internet and used without attribution. The icing on the cake is the "developer" here has copy + pasted + reskinned this same asset onto Steam a lot. The developer, Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this game an insane SEVENTY SIX TIMES onto Steam with minor reskins... why cash in on one asset if y…

I'm playing Steam Games in alphabetical order and you can watch my review here: https://youtu.be/cYU4960afKg Prefer to read? This is one of 52 games in 8floor's "1001 Jigsaw" series that are basically a copy/pasted slop fest. Every game is nigh identical, with the only difference being the images used to create the jigsaw puzzles, all of which have been lifted without crediting the artists from various sites such as rgbstock, Unsplash and even Shutterstock. While technically not illegal, it's incredibly inconsiderate considering that these "games" wouldn't be anything without the images these artists provide. From a technical standpoint the game meets the absolute basics in terms of UI and mechanics. The looping music will make you irritated rather than relaxed, but the most frustrating element is that the cursor is misaligned in almost every game, resulting in numerous misclicks. I was also immensely disappointed by the lack of a single jigsaw puzzle with 1001 pieces in ANY of these games. Most importantly though, they recently INCREASED the price of many of their games, to nearly triple the original price. Because they feel comfortable selling a copy/pasted game, they'll be rec…

1001 Jigsaw Detective, developed by Somer Games and published by 8floor, is a casual puzzle experience that builds itself around a simple but enduring concept: assembling jigsaw puzzles at your own pace. Framed loosely within a detective theme, it attempts to give a sense of purpose to its collection of images, though in practice the narrative element remains secondary to the act of solving puzzles. The game’s identity is defined less by storytelling and more by the steady, almost meditative rhythm of fitting pieces together. The core gameplay is exactly what one would expect from a digital jigsaw title. Players select from a large library of images and reconstruct them piece by piece, with each puzzle offering adjustable parameters that influence difficulty. You can increase or decrease the number of pieces, enable rotation, and tweak other settings to shape the experience according to your preference. This flexibility is one of the game’s strongest aspects, as it allows both newcomers and experienced puzzle enthusiasts to find a comfortable level of challenge. The inclusion of tools such as hints, piece sorting, and zoom functions further enhances accessibility, ensuring that ev…
