I have my own channel on youtube (who doesn't anymore? :) ) and I ran a let's play on ToEglathia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1fQv0uGnWU) which is also a First Impressions and Simplistic Review. (My channel, if you are curious, is https://www.youtube.com/user/williamroeben I do primarily Let's Plays on damned near anything that most people don't do :) I myself... don't recommend the game in it's current form- BUT! IF the dev keeps working on it as promised, there IS a lot of hope and promise in it! Keep your eyes on this game, follow it, and buy it when it gets a little better. *I* bought it, of course :) , but then I buy ANYTHING :)5 found this helpful
Tower of Eglathia, developed by Lord Eglathia and published by Eglathia Games, is a compact yet ambition-driven roguelike RPG that draws heavily from classic dungeon-crawling traditions while embracing procedural structure and methodical, turn-based gameplay. The game revolves entirely around ascending the ominous Tower of Eglathia, a self-contained labyrinth of monsters, traps, and arcane secrets where every run is a gamble between growing power and sudden failure. Rather than relying on cinematic storytelling or elaborate worldbuilding, the game anchors itself in atmosphere and systems, encouraging players to construct their own narrative through survival, experimentation, and repeated attempts at conquering the tower. From the beginning, Tower of Eglathia establishes a deliberate pace that rewards patience and planning. Each run begins with the creation of a character defined by a chosen skill tree, immediately shaping how the adventure will unfold. The tower itself is procedurally generated, with floors composed of interconnected rooms filled with enemies, environmental interactions, and loot. While the overarching goal—reach the top alive—never changes, the randomness of layo…2 found this helpful
I could have played this game in the 80s. It is that retro. You choose your stats like any other D&D clone, with a class choice of assassin, mystic, or barbarian. You make your way through a very primitive tower. A bit mindless. A bit fun. Not for those needing killer graphics to enjoy a game. Nor would I suggest it to anyone seeking a great story. For loot and exploration lovers.1 found this helpful
many bugs...
worth it just for the intro cutscene
Tags: Topdown - GridRogue Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Audiovisually entry level. No Xbox360 pad support. Core mechanics are sound but execution is superior all around in titles from competition. Cool old school style game that functions the same as dozens of other titles in this genre, some of them free. Liked the regenerating mana and health pools which prevents being grinded to death on small encounters and encourage getting your hands dirty early on, giving you a chance for the loot to become a hook very fast. Difficulty was tweakable both directly and through character creation. Overall audiovisual presentation was entry level with very few sound assets, black empty tiles, next to no animation to anything. No Xbox360 pad support. Equipping items and looting stuff was intuitive enough and I had no problems triggering attacks or choosing precise movement. This game is very redundant and has a lot of trouble keeping my attention, as a result I make careless mistakes and die which further encourages me to put playing it off. Removed for declutter
