New! For game preservation purposes, we've updated the game to include the 'Director's Cut' materials, that was cut from the planned Remaster before we released REMAKE. Director's Cut is future proofed to run on Windows 11 24H2 and beyond by using Voodoo wrapper and we have replaced the incompatible engine that the original game was using before. With whole new areas and cinematic animated backdrops that resemble the Remake, this is the definitive version of The Dawning Clocks of Time (Original).

I'm generally not a fan of RPG games like this, but I recommend this game overall. Two standout points: -The investment and effort the developer(s) put into polishing and improving their game. It's still being constantly updated and recently added more achievements to the original set. -It's based off a novel, and has a large amount of content. Positives: -It's got a fair amount of items and battle mechanics, so battling isn't too stale while not being too complex. -Story heavy, so a lot to watch and see. -Lot of content means a lot of exploring and seeing how much detail is put in even the small-one-line interactions of items during free-roaming periods. -Open world, a variety of movement and transitions, and a variety of menus. -A lot of music. -Free DLCs Negatives: -General aesthetic. Menus and a few other things resemble a basic/plain look seen in a lot of RPGMaker games. -The story is linear, but some sections may get overwhelming or a bit too large to know where to go next intuitively. -Some cutscenes were a little long. Would like to see a few improvements, like the time-clock for whose turn it is in battle. It's cool to see where turns are relative to each other, but i…8 found this helpful
Don't really play much space games, but this one is a great game. A great story that definitely pulls the player in with the characters the developer has developed. The game does have great mechanics, like the time capsule leveling system and the sphere grid leveling system. Although sometimes the combat does feel repetitive and not much of a challenge because certain skills are definitely an over-kill. I just got to chapter 2 and the story plot is thickening. I do recommend other to try this game3 found this helpful

The Dawning Clocks Of Time – Director's Cut is a science-fiction role-playing game developed and published by Spacefarer R&D Ltd. that aims far beyond the expectations typically associated with independent RPG projects. Set against the backdrop of a galaxy-spanning conflict, the game blends turn-based combat, exploration, character-driven storytelling, and strategic progression into a lengthy adventure that explores themes of war, destiny, sacrifice, and human survival. The Director's Cut serves as the definitive version of the experience, featuring restored content, additional locations, visual improvements, and numerous enhancements designed to fully realize the developers' original vision. From the beginning, the game establishes an ambitious scope. Rather than focusing on a single world or isolated conflict, it presents an expansive interstellar setting where entire civilizations stand on the brink of catastrophe. The story follows a group of central characters whose personal struggles become inseparable from a larger war that threatens humanity's future. Political conspiracies, ancient mysteries, military conflicts, and emotional relationships are woven together into a narrat…
I'm amazed I hadn't heard of this game until now. I happened to see the demo, tried it, and immediately bought it. Good sci-fi RPGs are a rarity, and the writing and soundtrack in this game are top notch.
