About Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga
Command squads across tactical battlefields where positioning, weather, and morale determine victory in this story-rich 2D turn-based strategy RPG set during a world-shaking conflict. Build and customize your army from 50+ unit classes, manage logistics between battles, and uncover a conspiracy that goes far deeper than a simple rebellion as you navigate a dynamic cast of allies and enemies across the war-torn world of Tahnra.
At the turn of the millennium, the world of Tahnra is headed for a reckoning. The long and bloody conflict of Veridian Succession left the Empire of Veridia scarred, its people subject to brutal hardships. Under the reign of Empress Florina, the vicious cycle seemed to be broken, until a rogue General abducted her from the capital, mustering his own armies and raising the flag of rebellion. Performance, this is the only reason I'm downvoting this game. it was included in a Humble Bundle some time ago and I installed it and the game ran like Malware. I did wonder if it was CCP spyware tbh. The actual Turn-Based gameplay was enjoyable to me and I'm generally indifferent to such (it reminded me of Dragon Force on the Saturn, showing my age there!). The game itself seems decent but it runs so poorly that I cold not possibly recommend it, shame.
It was alright. Scratched an itch but the itch just moved. 7 out of House Hippos
A very fun tactical RPG! I love being able to assign squads with great team cohesion and specific uses. Although ngl I don't know how I'd play this game with permadeath off and carefully upgrading specific units. Could be a skill issue though
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game from beginning to finish. From units and squads customization, base of operations and resources management, soundtrack, the characters and the story. TL;DR at bottom. Gameplay wise the game explains you the basics, the more in-depth you'll figure out as you play. I played on Warlord difficulty and it was fair balance imo. While not very often, i will admit having save scummed at times to obtain optimal battle outcome. Especially on
Chapter 10's
optional objective. Story wise yes, it's the generic "good vs evil" trope. That does not make the story bad. It's a good story. Truth be told, even though i still enjoyed it, the story felt a bit rushed towards the end. Some other stuff i could comment on such as MC having more class variety, flying units variety, among other stuff. Though, these are more personal nitpicks than cons tbh. Overall recommend trying this game this out, especially if you're a turn-based fan o7 I always love being impressed by what people can create with RPGmaker engine.
Feels like going back to some old school pixel RPG. I enjoyed the squad management and building my own squadrons to my liking. Would have liked more options to level up as i wanted to so i had more freedom to try even more squads out but did have some encounter limits. Combat was like some browser based autobattlers like league of angels so I was familiar with it. Very much worth the sale price for the base game and legends expansion. 10 Dollars well spent.
Excellent tactical rpg. If you want something like Ogre Battle 64/Unicorn Overlord, this is one of the few games that scratches that itch.
