The Eternal Mines

This appears to be unfinished or a demo to a game that is yet to come out. I feel like I am playing the alpha to a playtest to see if this type of game idea would be worth investing time into. The storyline mentions this being a demo. Also the UI is extremely basic and the save function does not work. If left open overnight, the game will slow down to 1 frame per second and then crash upon entering a new area. That being said... New Dev with no games on their list and I do like the idea. Dev if you see this, I would recommend slowing down the progression. As an idle game, I would be okay with this being on my computer for a long time. Maybe have an option to make progression happen automatically? Also, if your minions are "varied and plentiful", they should look varied. As of right now, they all look the same and honestly the cull feature of killing your minions is something that is probably needed but I didn't understand. I do like the concept of the game but it does not seem like it's quite finished.

So far a solid concept with the base building blocks to be a good idler. I will enjoy following progress of this game.

The Eternal Mines is a very simple idle management game built around one idea that I actually find quite relaxing. I am not doing the mining myself. Instead, I have a group of minions doing the work for me while I watch the mine grow and slowly unlock more upgrades. I can send the little miners deeper into the underground, open up new areas and improve their abilities as I progress. It is a small game, but I like the idea of watching a whole group of workers automatically getting on with things while I focus on improving the operation. The biggest thing I like is seeing the amount of activity on screen. The game is built around having lots of autonomous miners working at once, and watching them move around the mine gives it a bit more life than a normal idle game where I am mostly looking at menus and numbers. There is something satisfying about seeing the mine slowly fill with workers and watching the excavation continue without me having to control every individual action. The upgrade system gives me a reason to keep going deeper. I can improve my minions and unlock different areas as I progress, so there is at least a basic sense of advancement.
