About The Falconeer: Revolution Remaster
REMASTER OUT NOW! FREE as an update for all STEAM Falconeer owners. The Falconeer has received a major Remaster refresh for all steam users recently. This brings it up in quality to Bulwark and future games. Sadly I didn't have the means to also remaster the VR version, but this is still a possibility in the future, consider supporting this solodev franchise of experimental games by following or wishlisting any of my other games and hopefully I can revisit the Falconeer again for another major upgrade..
You take on the role of Falconeer, a powerful airborne warrior traversing a vast oceanic world torn apart by generations of poisonous decisions and dissent. Throughout multiple campaigns, you will experience life from many different perspectives and loyalties as you embark on a journey of discovery, and solve the mystery of the Ursee, its people and history.
Progress through perilous missions and side quests, wielding your lightning caster to protect ships against pirates, kraken and other threats. Dive through the deep ocean depths, soar above the clouds to do battle with giant crab cities or engage in furious dogfights against the mysterious Mancer Order that controls and regulates technology.

I just couldn't get into this game. It seemed far more interested in shoving voiced lore at me rather than providing information on game mechanics or even letting me play around to figure out the game mechanics myself. For example, when selecting a starting character, you're getting blasted with an audio history lesson that restarts with every choice, while all the falcon stats you're trying to choose between, abbreviated by letter codes, go completely unexplained. I'm not asking for "hand holding" here - I'm saying the stats should just go ahead and say what they are rather than using cryptic abbreviations that don't even reveal themselves as a tooltip. Then you start a game and every screen includes a voiceover to infodump about more world lore. Then you start playing and every 30 seconds someone is blabbing to you about game world politics. I don't think the game ever gave me 5 minutes of quiet to play in peace. Also, I recognize that the game encourages use of a controller, but there's really no good reason a mouse and keyboard shouldn't work. In fact they mostly do, but it's just frustrating enough in combination with the lack of explanations above that I gave up on it…1 found this helpful
There is no mouse sensitivity control. It is impossible to move the bird in any controlled fashion. My controller does not work at all on it. I cannot even steer it at all. Unfortunately, most of the game revolves around maneuvering your bird. Impossible to play. Desperately needs a mouse sensitivity adjuster. 10/1001 found this helpful
If you've ever dreamt of flying free in the sky, this game is for you. If you've ever wanted to be a badass unbeatable topgun, this game is also for you. If you like the post-apocalyptic kind of games long past our time with a troubled backstory, this game is also for you. It's such a good blend of so many amazing concepts, it's definitely worth a play. It's extremely easy to get op but I guess thats part of the fun of it. I just can't get enough of drifting around the Ursee and looking at the gorgeous moons on the back of my falcon. Definitely a chill game. And the combat has a learning curve, but once you get there, you're basically unbeatable.
This is a game that will appeal only to a really specific audience with very specific gameplay preference, and i wholeheartedly mean this as a compliment. This game feels like a godsent to me, the visuals, the gameplay loop, the story are top notch in my book. Having said that this will not appeal to you in the slightest if you are easily driven away by unoptimized pc controls, lots of dialog reading, hard to master combat mechanics and moments of quiet , when its just you, your mount and the endless waters of Ursee.
The Falconeer is a weird little game, even for the arcade flight genre. You fly over an endless ocean, on a bird the size of a semitruck, listening to Mongolian throat singing while dogfighting bug people and their giant eels. Yet, somehow, words cannot begin to describe how much I love the setting; the only word I can use to describe it is mythological. And don't get me started on the graphics; it's beautiful! In terms of gameplay, The Falconeer is a bit lamer; most missions are essentially: go somewhere, kill thing, go back, and are very same-ie with very few proper "side-quests". Also, I highly recommend playing with either a controller or flight stick, keyboard is not good. In the end, for a one man indie dev, The Falconner is an amazing game I highly recommend.
Wow…so I really struggled to enjoy this sadly. Visuals and audio design are good and music hits at times, and that’s basically where the positives end for me. Gameplay was frustrating from the beginning due to clunky controls and felt repetitive after a few hours, didn’t enjoy the story at all, the way each chapter is structured seemed like a good idea but didn’t seem well-executed, the way the game handles progression isn’t very good and doesn’t get explained well either, and some bugs relating to enemy health pools and incorrect objectives being displayed was the ultimate cherry on top of this disappointing cake. But the game looks and sounds really good so…
