The Ice Cream Culprit is an adorable little visual novel that I found much funnier than I expected. The entire premise revolves around a very important question that is also completely ridiculous: someone ate my girlfriend's ice cream, and I have to decide whether I should tell her who did it. I liked how confidently the game commits to such a tiny situation. The gameplay is almost entirely about making choices and seeing how the conversation changes. I can decide who I believe is responsible and then choose how I handle the situation. I enjoyed this because the game does not need complicated mechanics to create different outcomes. A simple decision about honesty can completely change the tone of the scene. The multiple endings give the game a nice little reason to replay. I liked going back after seeing one outcome and trying the alternative approach, especially because the game is short enough that replaying does not feel like a huge commitment. It works well as a compact choice based experience where the fun comes from seeing how the same situation can develop differently. The cute anime inspired presentation also fits perfectly. Short and cute. I don't love how we bring up her weight because, at least with her drawing, she's most likely fine weight wise

Really adorable game, in all honesty. Got one out of four endings and left with a warm feeling in my tum-tum.

Delightful and adorable, regardless of it being 4 to 8 minutes long for all endings. Also realistic, it is. I have been in all the situations depicted. (T-T) Go have waffles!
