About The Last Craftsman
The Last Craftsman is a farming simulator, but with some interesting twists thrown in. You're no mere farmer, you're a Craftsman! Harvest lumber to build a chair, or catch fish to... also craft a chair. Crafting is the name of the game, what you choose to craft WITH is up to you!
You are a new graduate of the Craftsman's Guild, an organization devoted to ensuring the mechanical prosperity of every town and city in the country. Craftsmen are tasked with repairing machinery, supplying furniture, and generally maintaining the infrastructure of small towns and large cities alike by fulfilling the requests of its citizens. You've been assigned to Gear Springs, a quaint little village out in the mountains. Normally, this would be a very exciting moment in your life, but you're unsure of how to feel. Gear Springs seems like a nice place, but rumor has it that something terrible happened in the town and the last Craftsman disappeared.
Oh well, it's too late to change your mind now! The train is already charging towards your new home.

Crafting By Components
In The Last Craftsman, each item is more than the sum of its parts. It's also its parts! Every item has tags that define what it is, Lumber is Wood and Fuel, Pillows are very Fluffy, a Cactus is Spiky. These component parts are what really matter in Gear Springs. Some materials will only be available at certain times, which means the way you craft items and progress will be constantly changing!Omni-tool Mods
As an official Craftsman, you have access to the amazing Omni-tool! The Omni-tool is great on its own and everything, but you can also install modifications to add unique effects. Some mods do simple things like make harvesting materials faster, while others can give you a chance to acquire unique materials or help you learn new crafting recipes. Some modifications even come with upgraded versions for even stronger effects!- Craft items with an open ended crafting system

In this game you can make a table out of fish. ... Not sold yet? Alright. This game takes clear inspiration from Stardew in its format, but puts in some incredibly cool twists that make it wholly its own. [*] The crafting system alone - items have category tags that let them be substituted as materials, so a fish with the Wood tag can indeed make a table - could serve its own game, but oh, it also has a unique and fun fishing mechanic, and Slay the Spire-esque combat, and there are ways around things if you don't enjoy engaging in something specific. [*] The writing is funny and doesn't overstay its welcome; there's no romance (yet...I have hope for a future update!), but the character quests, while short, do a lot to make the town feel like an actual community, and I love the way changes you make in the quests have an actual impact - one character asked for a stroller so she could take her infant sibling on a walk, and the day after I gave it to her I saw her using it on her afternoon walk! [*] I have the Summer theme stuck in my head still, and the sound design is really satisfying, especially the harvesting. Well, imagine Stardew Valley, but now imagine that the focus isn't around Farming, it is around Crafting, and now imagine that the combat in this game is a turn-based card battler set in in ancient High-tech Ruins. The entire game's story is heavily focused on the player being the new Craftsman sent by the Craftsmen's Guild to a distant declining town after the previous craftsman was filled with rage at the town and tried to destroy the town with a giant killer Robot. The player's progress is focused on solving the problems the town and townsfolk is having, both past and present, and dealing with the ancient High-tech ruins and rebuilding the town's declining and damaged infrastructure, while taking jobs from townsfolk to increase the player's craftsman rank. I find this game to be really enjoyable and fun, it is quite relaxing and not stressful, in spite of the combat and conflict. The townsfolk are friendly, the people always resolve differences in spite of conflict, there is noticable improvement and happiness as the player progresses. Not a Doom and Gloom game.
