My Little Blacksmith Shop has a dedicated nostalgic fanbase drawn to its cozy blacksmithing gameplay and charming aesthetic, but the game suffers from significant technical issues and limited development progress over the years. Players appreciate the solo developer's continued effort and the game's satisfying core loop, though many report game-breaking bugs, lack of meaningful updates, and a sense that the game has stalled in development.

Pains me to do this but have to thumbs down. I know the dev has had lots happen over the years but when i look over this game and the last time I played it was 5 years ago and today look over it and its about at the same spot kinda feels odd.

I remember seeing Jacksepticeye's video on an older version of this game more than a decade ago. It was the first ever indie game I managed to download. That older version was small and relatively linear gameplay-wise but it felt cozy and simple which was likely part of the appeal. You were a blacksmith. You smith tools to sell to customers. You make profit, buy more resources and progress through more valuable metals. It had a satisfying soundtrack which upon watching that same video on youtube made me nostalgic. More recent versions are a bit different. The game is set in a vibrant sort of medieval fantasy-land. There are mines you can travel to by horse where you can dig with tools you've made yourself, collecting ore for even more tools that you can use or sell to customers for profit. There's a shop where you can buy parts for your products, or of course steal said parts. There's even an entire town, a castle, a river, hidden treasure chests, and a surprisingly captivating hint of mystery about the whole place. It IS an improvement to how it used to be, and while it isn't quite just as relaxing and straightforward as then, it is a fun and relatively functional gam…

i've wanted to play this game for years since watching IGP play it on youtube and now that i finally have my own PC i can. I guess at some point an update dropped that added more issues than features and people are dogging on the dev as a result. i hate to see it, i cant even get past the tutorial now cus when a customer walks in for the first time the game doesnt register that they're there.

Unfortunately quite broken. Loses its charm as soon as a simple mechanic like crouching breaks the game.
