About The Mildew Children: Chapter 1

Featuring a blend of 2D adventure and visual novel, The Mildew Children: Chapter 1 is the very beginning of the grim tale about a village inhabited only by children who follow savage pagan traditions. Guide a young witch named Kyrphel, along with her sisters and make sure they survive the macabre Ritual in order to save the village. A witch's demise during the ritual is not extraordinary, since not all can triumph over Mistress Death. This time, Kyrphel is strong enough to handle it. Or so she thought.
Combining the elements of fairy tale and horror, the story draws on pagan folklore and ancient beliefs. Accompany Kyrphel and her friends in this grim, beautifully hand-drawn adventure game. Take part in the Ritual and discover the secret of the village, interact with peculiar villagers, bewitch, and overcome the affliction that haunts the young sorceress.
- A full chapter of the origin story that introduces the player to local traditions and sets the stage for the adventure that follows.- Approximately 1 hour of narrative and gameplay combining investigations, puzzles, quick-time events (QTE) and multiple-choice dialogues.
- The variety of unique locations: the village streets, the burial ground, the RItual.
- A series of tough decisions that will force you to think twice about how you proceed - will you go against ancient traditions or follow them to the end?
- Characters with a detailed personality and story, unique portraits reflecting the characters' emotions during dialogues. Numerous side characters Kyrphel would have to interact with in order to fulfill her goals.

Honestly saying it's a rare case that I make a post about something that I didn't like that much. Bugs, lack of optimisation. Even a main character plot is soaked with the propaganda. I wish I can come back in time to stop myself from opening that "masterpiece" 0/102 found this helpful
This release is identical to Demo available on the page of the full game, but here you also have achievements. Good folk story concept. Although to me this teaser is rather slow and low on activity: lots of text that could be shorter and not so much besides that. Also the text has some surprisingly basic mistakes. I think such setting is not much represented so it's a product worth attention despite quality a bit lower than you'd normally want.1 found this helpful
