I really enjoyed this game! (My hours are low on steam because I play these mostly on the Hosted Games mobile app) Being in the eyes of something so inhuman and monstrous and seeing the growth it makes through a human life was so fun! The characters seemed well rounded and complex enough to gain a lot of my interest. The explanation of energy, other beings and the antagonist were great. I didn't feel like I was left wondering without reason throughout the story (except towards the end). The writing is super solid and I felt like everything flowed excellent. I noticed very few errors in the text but they did make me do a double take when I saw them. It was never enough to make me have to guess what was being said. There were a lot of times where the choices felt incredibly hollow. An example would be: giving the player 3 options, I pick option #2 and it tells me something along the lines of, "No way that would work, let's go with option #3". This felt a lot like it was taking away the point of even having an option and ridiculing the player's choice if they chose the incorrect one. The ending felt a little rushed imo but I enjoyed it the journey regardless. I'm going to chalk i…2 found this helpful
I really love this game, and I followed along with it's development on Tumblr. It's a really fun and engaging story with interesting characters and it was really cool to get to see it come to be! My only complaint is that I wish I was able to manually save and/or navigate back to prior decisions so I don't have to start over every time I want to try something different. If that feature does exist, I have been unable to find it on my own2 found this helpful
A servicable story. Just make sure to concentrate on the traits that you want in the prolouge. Don't be middleing.2 found this helpful
The idea of playing as an eldritch horror fleeing from another is very cool and I think the sections of the game which directly deal with this are the strongest parts. I don't mind that a decent portion of the text is dedicated to the mundanities of human life, I think experiencing it through the eyes of an eldritch horror who is stuck in a human shell is interesting. With that said, apart from the thing hunting you, I find most of the characters to be unexceptional. They're not bad, I just struggle to care about them. The game is also a bit more railroady than I'd like, especially when it comes to your interactions with certain characters (
Roach and Olivia
mainly). Overall this is a light recommendation given its price. 7/10
A well written, insightful and suspenseful story, mixed with some great humour. Really enjoyed it, and one of the romancing options is lots of fun (
yes talking about, Roach obviously, hehe
)
It was worth it.
