A House of Many Doors

Hey hi hello. My original review (which remains below) was posted while I was about 60% of the way to completion of the main story. I have now completed that story, and HOO BOY. I need to ask: what are you doing with your life if you're not playing this game? This story is *majestic*. it's an incredible work of art, and it's enhanced by virtue of being told through an interactive medium. You should absolutely give this game a chance. If you don't find the gameplay rewarding enough to explore every little nook and cranny, then focus on the main story and crew quests. You're unlikely to be disappointed. Original review: I opened this game and then proceeded to spend my entire weekend on it. Two of my crew members are fighting over obscure occult philosophical points, more than one is probably a murderer, and another is having me go all over the world for body modifications. One of my favorite games of all time. Sunless Sea is right there with it!

While the moment to moment traversal of the House can be a bit tedious at times, the staggering creativity of the writing more than makes up for it.

This is one of my favourite steam games I have ever played. The worldbuilding is fantastic, so much so that when I played sunless sea and sunless skies afterwards, they left me bored and wanting more.
