Actually, very based Despite looking simple you should be real tryhard to complete some levels I liked the mechanics and physics of this game as well And the main thing is a plot twist - developers are savage 10/10

cute puzzle game where your purpose is world destruction, but it gets boring quickly when you soft lock yourself just because the box fell the wrong way and you have to restart the whole room

"The Pest" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. The most surprising thing about this 2D retro pixel/minimalist puzzle platformer is that the gameplay is even worse than the phoned-in visuals. The idea is that you're a virus inside a computer and you can hack the computer with some really crap retro pixel platforming. This theme doesn't really work with such a poor technical delivery. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The technical execution of this game is shallow and simplistic, just enough to tick the boxes required to get something (anything) published on Steam, rather than investing the huge amount of effort and budget needed to create a fully fledged, comprehensive, high quality product.
