The Rose and I is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, The Rose and I is a software application that presents a poorly made art exhibition. This just plays a short crappy animated film. Was the developer momentarily blinded and got confused between Steam and Youtube? I mean, it's kinda hard to get both of them mixed up. One is for crappy homemade videos, and the other, apparently, is a dumping ground for RPG Maker asset flips and to catch stuff when Itchio fails to contain amateur crapware. This is not a game! We get this non-game shovelware on Steam whenever your usual Starbucks barista/McDonalds frycook art school dropout finally gets a restraining order from the local art galleries so turns to Steam Direct to try get their art published somewhere so they can finally dream of moving out of their parents basement. It's true that games can be art... art is where the pinnacles of craftsmanship and quality meet vision and narrative to create an experience far greater than the sum of the parts. This isn't a game at all, and the craftsmanship and narrative are terrible. …

Через анимацию, музыку и визуальные образы игра мастерски передает темы дружбы, самопожертвования и неизбежности перемен. Небольшая продолжительность идет только на пользу, не давая истории затянуться и позволяя сохранить её эмоциональную насыщенность. 'The Rose and I' - это короткое, но очень ценное приключение, которое оставит вас с теплым чувством и желанием беречь всё прекрасное в этом мире. Рекомендую всем, кто ищет игру, способную тронуть до глубины души.

Really nice little VR experience that I've come back to every few years. Very simple but very pleasant.
