Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
This is the most unrelaxing meditation app I have ever played in VR. If you told me that AI came up with this whole thing, I would believe you. It starts out in a nature scene that is running variable frame rates from 20-45 FPS on my RTX 3080. There are no graphical settings. When you move your head, the camera moves along with you which forces you to not ever move your head or else face a lot of jitteriness. It does have full locomotion and smooth turning, but there are no game settings to speak of. Your avatar hands are micro-sized and they are offset from your motion controllers as well. The voice actors all sound robotic, probably because a cheap AI generated them, along with the generic script (did AI create that as well?). It talks about your inner child and just telling your inner-child that it's okay and you love them. You have to hug your inner child as well. Whole thing takes about 18 minutes. However, make no mistake, if you're a well-adjusted person, you may become depressed after experiencing this VR appp. If you're already depressed, well ... I don't want to think of what may happen. WARNING: playing this game may make you…

"Innerchild VR" is a nightmarishly bad quality VR exclusive "meditation" adventure game that attempts to psychoanalyse your inner child in the worst ways possible. It's a clunky nightmare with sloppy text-to-speech being the best part of it... it's all downhill from there. This has some really mediocre looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarly visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even…
