About Allumette

* free for a limited time *

Allumette tells the story of a young orphan girl who lives in a fantastical city in the clouds. After enduring tragedy, she grasps at hope for her future. Loosely inspired by "The Little Match Girl" by Hans Christian Andersen, Allumette is an account of the love a mother and daughter have for one another, and the sacrifices they make for the greater good.

Allumette, developed and published by Penrose Studios, is less a game and more an intimate virtual reality narrative that demonstrates how storytelling can evolve when the viewer is placed inside the world itself. Built specifically for VR, it abandons traditional gameplay structures in favor of a fully immersive, observational experience. Instead of controlling a character or influencing events, you exist within the story as a silent presence, free to move, observe, and interpret what unfolds around you. The world is presented as a detailed, mi…

Lovely little VR animated short! It was made for older VR hardware, so the is not visually top notch anymore, but it is not really a problem. Too bad the resolution can't be increased (at least as far as I can tell). Very enjoyable!

Loverly emotive vr movie, unfortunatly it hasn't aged well. On my Pimax Super the game requires my head to be 10cm from the objects to appear sharp, the game appears to intentionally blur the objects further away. Possibly designed for low resolution headsets. It wound be nice if this could be fixed. If you have a basic low rez setup, I fully recommend it.
