About The Serpent Rogue
Playing as a mysterious alchemist known only as The Warden, you will craft, brew, boil & concoct potions all in your stead to protect the realm from the dreadful Serpent Rogue!
The ominous Serpent Rogue has laid down roots on Mount Morbus. Its evil is spreading quickly, and it threatens to overwhelm the realm. It is your task as the Warden to confront the Serpent Rogue and bring peace and tranquillity to the land. Explore every inch of the map, unearth secret passages, and expand your knowledge to stand against the incoming disaster.
Using your alchemy skills, craft and experiment with different ingredients to create extraordinary potions each with its own unique effects. Take on quests from the inhabitants of the cursed land and earn resources to further your exploits.
Each action you take will create interesting sequences of cause and effect. Keep too many creatures in one place and this will attract blood-thirsty reapers. Forget to bury the perished ones and you’ll start to attract corpse-eating ghouls. Hoard too many items in one location and attract plague-spreading vermin.
Shapeshift into different creatures, brew potions that will alter your body, give you unique abilities and create the perfect balance between human and creature.

A difficult game, but in a bad way. The game does not respect your time, miscomunicates its mechanics and once you have a sizable army, your allied npcs will just go straight into traps and damage dealing thorns like there is no tomorrow, so bye bye 30 minutes of farming. The game is very farming-intensive with very slow movement and annoying animations. Generally I found it very annoying, even though it should be a type of game I like. There is a low inventory cap limit and the "camp" map is big, so you will spend a lot of time crawling around and collecting resources. Forgot a recipe? Walk for around 15 seconds to smelter. Now go back to your chest for around 15 seconds. Now back to smelter. There, minute of your life gone. Just started the game? Got all resources on you and you died on boss? Well... Surprise - you didn't know nothing about the storm? Oh so you died again and lost everything you collected in the past hour? Too bad. Very, very tiring and annoying to play this game. Even the "fast travel" between maps option is not really fast, as you watch the animation -_-... More like "slow travel". And even though you can recruit npcs, there is barely any automation pos…2 found this helpful
It can be a lot to take in. There is little hand holding. I really enjoy the start (I am trying to do a deathless [main companion too]). Go out and get resources, but leave before you overstay your welcome. Use the wait command often too1 found this helpful
Honestly, the game wasn't fully what I waited from it, but: The game still very lovely to play! When I started the game, it was a nice gameplay, it's easy to start with. Quickly comprehend the different gathering methods, starting to test every potion combinaison you can make. The resume of the game don't talk a lot about it, but from my view, it's really more a gathering game focused with an interesting gameplay approach and a bit of (literal) farming Found some lovecraftian biomes with their own horrors, growing a village, found that weird ship and that strange... Character, beat the plague storm hitting this adorable more eyes-than-it-should nature drink a potion of chicken metamorphose and... Do the thing- LISTEN I got very hungry okay? It's a chilling game when you understand the nature surrounding you and what you need to do, to be honest I didn't play the game since 2022 as I write this review, but... it's just stuck in my mind since, and I don't say that for some lovecraft roleplay, the game really hit me and have leave a mark in some part of my brain It is a good game? Yes. Could it be better? I also thing yes. I have regret? Absolutely not, and I think about start the…1 found this helpful

This game certainly isn't bad. But it does have some limits. The weapon enhancement system gives the ability to modify certain attributes on weapons and tools, but only certain modifiers can be changed. For instance, the broom has a "Remove" "3" "Age" at base. You might think of trying to change it to "Add" to apply a condition that the Banisher (weapon that deals major extra damage for certain conditions) can make use of. But this is not possible. Limits like these just make it a bit difficult to want to mess around with the game's systems. The world is also fairly small. This isn't inherently a problem, given that the game has some interesting locations, but by the time players get to the Swamp area, they are usually just rushing through until the end of the game. The game also has a lot of interesting systems that aren't really necessary with how it is balanced. Mechanics such as chopping trees for wood, sleeping to pass time, and even eating aren't really necessary for the majority of the game. There are also mechanics like feeding your recruits and riding certain animals that I never really touched, even with getting all achievements and nearly all Journal entries. There i…
The Serpent Rogue is a dark fantasy action-adventure that builds its identity around experimentation, survival systems, and alchemy-driven gameplay rather than straightforward combat or traditional role-playing mechanics. Set in a corrupted world slowly collapsing under the spread of a mysterious plague-like force, the game places players in the role of The Warden, a masked alchemist tasked with restoring balance and containing the spreading corruption. What immediately separates the experience from more conventional fantasy games is how heavily it emphasizes observation, discovery, and consequence. Instead of handing players direct answers or clear progression paths, the game constantly encourages experimentation and rewards curiosity in ways that make the world feel dangerous, unpredictable, and alive. The alchemy system is easily the game’s defining feature. Nearly every aspect of progression revolves around collecting ingredients, identifying properties, and experimenting with potions and concoctions. Plants, monster remains, minerals, and strange substances can all be combined into useful mixtures capable of healing, poisoning, transforming, or manipulating the environment. U…
