About This Grand Life
Build a character and navigate life's financial choices—balancing weekly needs like food and fun against long-term goals like wealth and education—in this deep personal finance sim inspired by Jones In The Fast Lane. Your circumstances shape your options, from prestigious careers to investment portfolios and real estate ventures, while dynamic economics and random events keep every playthrough unpredictable.
Inspired by Sierra's 1990 game Jones In The Fast Lane, your life is divided into weeks. You try to accomplish as much as you can each week while economic conditions and special events create interesting choices to think about. Do I go to work this week, or take part in the Hot Dog Eating competition at the park? Should I spend time looking for a better job, or stick with my current job until economic conditions improve?

I played a game as a Cat called Dan D Lions, who was born behind a dumpster in Sydney, Australia. I became a Janitor Cat for a Corporation, working up to Paralegal Office Cat in dressy clothes. I worked too hard and got committed after going crazy from stress. It's a fun story generator and life sim. It is a bit monotonous clicking so much, but there is definitely method behind the madness. You do genuinely have to balance things, becoming cost efficient and learning how to effectively reduce and minimise stress. Earning money comes at a cost, and it does a good job of imitating that process in life. Admittedly I did not really appreciate it when I first bought it years ago, but I read the store page again and remembered why it was intriguing. Turns out, it is a good time.1 found this helpful
Tons of fun for those who like games that incorporate a stock market and business aspect. I've never played the game Capitalism Plus but I have played a variety of trading and business-oriented games (Star Traders, Plutocracy, Patrician). This game incorporates a bit of sim-style management of your character's progress which sets it apart from the other aforementioned titles. Fun game and it has plenty of mods and ability to change settings if you need more/less challenge.1 found this helpful
Easy to play, if you're a busy person or need to get up and do something it's not time based. Definitely shows how challenging it is to juggle a job, study and trying to keep yourself fed and sane at the same time.
Игра сама по себе очень небольшая по количеству механик. Бизнес реализован слабо. Ощущается что игра сильно урезана
This game got me outside and now i have an actual flower garden.
The best game I've played on Steam so far.
