Linear visual novel with zero gameplay elements, but the story manages to pull you in. Although the game makes use of the well-known visual novel engine, which removes most technical parts of game production and allows developers to focus on telling the greatest story possible, this is usually not a huge concern if personal touches are added. This is typically evident in customized main menus, fonts, and overall presentation. Fortunately, this game handles all of that. This game is a "kinetic" visual novel, which means it has no choices or alternative endings. Depending on your reading pace, you may be able to complete the game in minutes or hours. Saving is allowed, however it's almost unnecessary because you can finish the game in one sitting. Despite the futuristic setting that would be fun to explore, the game is limited to a single person talking to a police representative over a screen. It feels like an interrogation because the man did something. Even locations are limited. There’s only your room and a few scenes you get to see through the virtual helmet that allows the representative to see what happened. Super short, but interesting. Consider it as some kind of introduction teaser to some kind of series, that are planned.

It really is just a short story with a few pictures thrown in. Too few, I would say, as the text would go on and on while the background remains largely unchanged. As an introduction to the world of Ocean 17, it failed to pique my interest to know more. But then again, your mileage may vary.

"Thorns: Police never sleeps" is a cyberpunk vn. A very clever and twisted story that unfolds through great artwork, music and dialogues. How do you envision the virtual reality future ahead of us? Is it full of roses or gloomy? This game dives into the subject with no fear! You play as a tragic figure, you're a police officer in a city that waits for nothing and no one. Can you keep them safe?.. Can you keep your sanity when the tragic events unfold?.. This is a dark story with amazing illustration that will hold your attention from start to finish and then, you'll be wanting some more! Thankfully, there will be another story in this universe, even though, this vn is complete and with a proper ending. A fascinating and twisted story with twists you won't see coming! Without spoiling the plot, I'd like to mention that despite it's length, it gives a clear and full picture of the characters and their mindset. It's very interesting to see the different perspectives and tricks that get played. While there is no gore, it's not a light hearted story. It's impactful, serious, deep and a bit depressing. But, it's a story you want to read as it's fantastic! A great example of an "after t…
