2064: Read Only Memories

Interesting cyberpunk point & click / visual novel hybrid with good writing and multiple endings. Worth playing for fans of either genre.

Not much in terms of gameplay, and the characters were really unpleasant with the robot in particular being a real ♥♥♥♥ for no reason and there's no option to throw it into a trash compactor. If I wanted to relive being bullied, there's plenty of games that can do that better and involve a lot less clothing.

It's a good game! Not challenging in any capacity, but surprisingly thorough with really solid animation. If you want to efficiently get all endings, I would recommend saving multiple files at once, each aiming for a different ending. I'm satisfied with just having the one, though.

One of the best point-and-click games I have ever played! Had this on my older account years ago and it still holds up today. So glad to see all the new life that was breathed into this game!

Really enjoyed the music but that was pretty much it. The game is very on rails and gets tedious. I thought at some point it would open up more but it really didn't. You simply go from point A to point B over and over again then go through the whole dialog tree for a character all while having the most annoying sidekick ever. It's a visual novel but the characters and plot didn't interest me enough to keep going.

2064: Read Only Memories is a Cyberpunk point-and-click / Visual novel about a Sentient Robot on his quest to find out what happened to his creator and a bigger conspiracy behind it all. You are a (maybe talentless Journalist) who by some calculations happen to be made into an assistant to this journey of finding out the truth and to deliver justice. 2064 is very pretty with its pixel graphics and the tunes are very very nice if you are into the more 16bit aesthetics. The game itself is somewhat linear, with a brief you can choose what route to do first choice around the midpoint, you’ll still need to do both but at least you can choose which one interests you more. Most of the player made impact comes from your actions and answers in the dialogue that can lead to different characters reacting to you in different ways. You can make important characters to dislike you... And with 4 endings there is plenty of options to go with. There are some interesting themes regarding what makes human, a human when compared to hybrids and the games depiction of robot, or ROMs. Worth to check.
