Information / Review English
Throne of Fate is an Action-RPG developed by Enoops.
Gameplay / Story
In Throne of Fate, your goal is to kill mobs to complete the level and advance. After each successful completion of a level, you can improve your skills and get better weapons. Boring belongs to the past in this game, because at the beginning you will die a lot, until you have built something up and become stronger and stronger. Every round trip feels different because you don't know what to expect. In your adventure you will meet many different opponents and fantastic final battles await you.
Pro
+ for hardcore fans + matching pixel art graphics in 8 bit style + relaxed soundtrack + easy control + clear interface + Achievements
Contra
- short playing time
Conclusion
Throne of Fate offers you an entertaining adventure, but it never gets boring and you also like to return to visited places several times, because a new detail always catches your eye. For me personally an insider tip. PS: First of all, many thanks to the developer who provided us with this key for the group. Here you can find more good reviews from others a…17 found this helpful
Throne of Fate is an attempt at making a Metroidvania style 2D retro pixel platformer using the godawful GameMaker Studio game construction kit. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, using a game construction kit requires no game development talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Like almost all GameMaker Studio games, the technical quality here is deplorably bad. Retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for proper graphics, sloppy controls and janky gameplay. Impossible to recommend. An important note: Enoops are known asset flippers and have previously taken other developers work and put it on Steam in an attempt to scam gamers and get paid for someone else's effort. One example of Enoops doing this is Book of Shadows, which is really the "Polygon Western - Low Poly 3D Art Pack" asset, written by the actual developers, Synty Studios. Asset flips are harmful to the gaming industry.…9 found this helpful
Throne of Fate, developed and published by Enoops, is a 2D action RPG with strong roguelike influences that focuses on challenging combat, dungeon exploration, and the gradual mastery of its systems through repeated playthroughs. Instead of presenting a heavily story-driven adventure, the game embraces a more classic arcade-inspired philosophy where survival, experimentation, and persistence are the primary drivers of progress. The overall experience is built around fast-paced side-scrolling combat and a cycle of repeated attempts that gradually push players further into a dangerous fantasy world filled with monsters, traps, and powerful artifacts. The game places players in the role of a wandering warrior navigating a land overrun by hostile creatures and mysterious threats. The world itself feels less like a traditional RPG narrative and more like a series of perilous trials that must be overcome through combat and exploration. Rather than unfolding through dialogue-heavy storytelling or character interactions, the narrative remains largely in the background. The emphasis is placed instead on the player's journey through increasingly dangerous areas as they attempt to defeat ene…
Pretty fun idea but suffers in more than a few areas. In the 8 total playthroughs I played, I got softlocked twice and was forced to restart. Movement is clunky - especially jumping. There's only two music pieces in the game. Areas are not procedurally generated like most other games in the genre; you will be backtracking through the sames rooms over and over again. There's crafting and multiple shops, but you will not need to use any of them (except for the cosmetic dude if you're going for 100%). You can trivialize the game by fishing, which will give you infinite healing items depending on the time you put in. The English translation is pretty bad as well. Controls aren't intuitive; you have to press the "1" key to fire magic, which is an awkward stretch from WASD. You can throw bombs with "C" by the way (the game never tells you this). This is one of those games that had a lot of potential, but never really met a reasonable state of being. As is, there's no reason to play this over something like Dungreed.
Games seems cool but my character stopped being able to move, it was stuck and could only look left or right. Had to restart a new game and then it happened again, both times in the first area. I’ll try again, hopefully I can play it. It could just be me so I still recommend as the game was fun while I was able to move. A bit clunky and confusing UI but I could still figure it out no problem
