Too Many Bots

The game is fun and, in my opinion, offers just the right level of challenge to keep you entertained for a short time. It has attractive graphics, the bot design, and the PS1 aesthetic are beautiful, so I recommend it. However, I think it has some "issues" or improvements that could greatly increase the game's enjoyment and encourage players to play it more and more. Right now, the problem I'm having is that I don't feel like replaying a new stage because the difficulty scales too slowly and there's too little variety between them (I should point out that I've completed all the modes and played 4/5 stages for the first mode; I don't know if things change as you progress through the stages). The core of the game is fun, and that's the most important thing. It just needs to be enriched with elements that create more dynamism and variety. I'd like to play it again, but repeating the same dynamic every time just bores me. Too Many Bots is a pretty simple idea, but I think it works because the game understands exactly what it wants to be. I am dropped into retro PS1 style mazes filled with bots, and for most of the run I am the one being hunted. Then the rules change and suddenly I get to become the hunter instead. I liked that basic switch because it stops the game from feeling like a normal survival game where I am just running away for the entire time. The first person view works surprisingly well with the maze design. I am constantly looking around corners, trying to work out where the bots are and finding a safe route through the map. The retro visuals give everything a very old school horror feeling, especially when the maze starts filling up and I have nowhere obvious to go. I like the rough PS1 style because it gives the game a lot more personality than a clean modern presentation would have. The prey and hunter system is easily my favourite part. When I am being chased, I have to focus on movement and survival, but once the power shifts I can turn around and start destroying the bots instead. Kind of like Pac-Man but there's waves of ghosts (bots) and the power pellet is behind a timer. Aesthetically pleasing, might be worth your time.
