TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK - Expedition

Im a really big transformers fan, I really, really am, but this game is not worth it. For 44 dollars i expected at LEAST some decent graphics and sound, but it is utterly dissapointing. This game is honestly not even worth 15 dollars. You cant slow down once youre in your alt mode you can only excekerate, the fighting is RIDICULOUSLY easy due to having auto-aim, and being able to evade enemy shots by just walking to the side, not even a dodge roll, and the enemies being unable to evade YOUR attacks, meaning as soon as you hit them youve basically already won. This game is horrifically "optimized" too... Also the intro. It's diabolical. It is 2D animated, but it looks more like the animation you'd see on a comic-dub channel on youtube!!! Thankfully I got this game for 20 dollars, but honestly it wasnt even worth those 20 dollars, seriously. Also the faces are horrid, the lip-syincing to speaking is mediocre, and it honestly could be compared to Beast wars! (That's a stretch but still). Look, I'm willing to spend ridiculous amounts of money on this franchise, blokees figures, lego sets, and other merch- And I'd be more than willing to spend 40, hell, even 60 or 80 dollars on a trans…

I want to preface this review with 2 things: This game is clearly made for children and for fans of the Transformers series. I am neither, I havent even watched any of the movies in full. [hr][/hr] [h2]The Positive:[/h2] Since this game is meant for children, I want to applaud the games attempt to promote good values and reassurances. Not for me, but still, I reckon thats a good thing in a game for children. [hr][/hr] [h2]The Neutral:[/h2] The combat is very child-friendly, as you can easily get through by just mashing your left and right mouse button, combined with a few presses of the E and Shift button. [hr][/hr] [h2]The Negative:[/h2] The opening gave me strong Maid-and-Butler dialogue vibes. Some of the driving animations are awfully bad, especially at low speeds when going over ramps. The driving is awfully slow for some reason, unless you get Nitro. You are often quicker by just mashing the dodge button (Shift on the keyboard) The graphics are like from a game from 2010. Existant, but lack a lot of detail and the lighting is also meh. When coming up with a grapple and then dodging forwards, it loves to dodge backwards, even tho you clearly pressed forwards. …

If your expecting something as amazing as the cybertron games or devastation you will be very dissapointed. The only character you play as is bumblebee, none of the other characters from earthspark are playable. The game has 3 maps that feel very empty despite having collectables and enemies scattered in them. The maps have "side quests" that are just minigames for the materials needed to upgrade. The combat is ok while annoying at times and the enemies very often get stuck or frozen. the animations are nice for transformations. the audio is good. the voice acting is fine the gameplay is a bit boring. If your getting the game for a child they will probably like the game.

This game is basically Sonic Boom with a transformers skin. But i got it for $3.00 so i cant be too mad about it, but i would not recommended it at full price.

This game is aimed for kids, it is not really difficulty or grindy, 100% took like 5 hours (I have some afk time), but asking 40$ dollars for it is just ridiculous, no wonder there is only like 50 reviews for it. I would say it MIGHT BE worth a try if its on like a 90% sale. I didn't really care that much for the story because the characters were uninteresting imo, the twist before the final boss is good though. Graphics are okay, I would say the older games look better, the gameplay loop is somewhat repetitive, but the combat is fun with the upgrades, driving is not really that good and its hell on earth before the boost upgrades, the voice acting is straight up bad and I was skipping most of the dialogue towards the end. You could skip some sections of the environment with good jumping, I don't know if this was intentional or if the devs simply didn't polish it. It could make for interesting exploring if you wanna mess with it. Also, apparently all of the tracks in the game are licensed? I swear the battle music sounds exactly like one of the tracks from Red Alert 3.
