About TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK - Expedition

Battle and explore as Bumblebee in an adventure to stop his nemesis, Mandroid, from becoming the ultimate evil cyborg!

Bumblebee is facing his greatest mission – reclaim the ancient Cybertronian technology scattered across the globe before Mandroid and his henchbots can use them to destroy Earth’s cities.

With Optimus Prime’s guidance and you at the controls, Bumblebee will grow strong enough to take on an army of robotic enemies in bare-metal combat, find the lost technology, and unlock powerful new attack combos and abilities along the way!

There’s a wide world of Transformers action to discover. Gear up for boss battles with some of the series’ greatest villains, hunt down secrets, and build your relics collection as you explore three expansive locations. With gameplay modes designed for new and experienced players, there’s a challenge for every Transformers generation.

Disclaimer: I got this in a charity bundle, so this wasn’t exactly a “must play” purchase. Still, gamer curiosity kicked in… and maybe nostalgia for Transformers. Unfortunately, nostalgia can only carry so much. This feels like one of those games made for kids, but not in the good way. I’ve played plenty of kid-friendly games that are actually fun, this isn’t one of them. It feels rushed, unfocused, and unsure of what it wants to be. Is it a 3D platformer? A racing game? A brawler? The answer is yes… and also none of them. It tries to do everything, but only at a very shallow, “just enough to say it’s there” level. There’s also a lot of dialogue, clearly aiming for that “interactive cartoon” vibe. Which might work if you’re a hardcore fan of the show and just want more of it. If you’re here for gameplay, though… good luck. Add in some awkward camera movement, and the experience becomes more frustrating than fun. This is one of the rare cases where I didn’t even bother finishing the campaign (which says a lot). All in all, I would give it a 4/10 (the game as content and might work for die-hard fans of the cartoon) but for the general gammer? not worth your time.

Fairly short but fun little Transformers game. No it's not as epic as War for Cybertron etc, but it's not terrible. There is some glitchyness and clunkyness in some of the mechanics though, though nothing gamebreaking.

Would be a fun transformers game if it didn't crash a lot, had more depth, and less confusing level design. The characters mainly bumble bee have their unique charm. Otherwise a frustrating slog to play.

So boring and predicable.

I got the game on sale. I definitely wouldn't have paid $40 for it. The game is fine for a TV show tie-in. The voice actors are not the show's voice actors (Hashtag's voice is definitely the most jarring). You only get to play as Bumblebee, but the Terrans are around a lot. I'd say that if you like the TV show and get it on sale, you may enjoy it. (Do not pay $40 for this game it is 10 hours of gameplay even with the extras and they didn't even get the regular voice actors).
