About Trash Patrol - Academic Version

Trash Patrol is a cooperative multiplayer game for 2-4 players. You and one or more of your friends break into a house. Your goal: Steal every item within the given time!

But be aware of the homeowner! They do not condone raccoons running around their house and trashing it! If they spot you: Run!

This is not a dirty Job!

Raccoons want everything clean. You don't want any dirty goods, do you?

That's why all items need to be washed and dried carefully. Afterward, throw them in your teleporting trashcan. Why the trashcan is teleporting around? We have no clue what you did to it! Also, watch out for the dirty hands of the humans. Don’t let them touch your precious trash!

Cooperation is Key

Do you want to snatch the toaster from the shelf? Or the gnome from the desk? And you can’t reach the items? Grab a teammate and throw them in the air!

Higher spots can only be reached together.

Whether you are collecting items, washing them, or baiting the human - only teamwork makes the dream work! You outsmart every human and return the stolen goods to those who deserve them: You!

"Trash Patrol - Academic Version" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a cutesy, if low quality co-op action adventure game where you and your raccoon friends break into a house to steal items, and you must avoid the homeowner, who is not amused by you trashing their house. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gam…

Tried playing it with some friends locally, none of us knew how the controls work, or what to do in order to win. But at least it's free.
