About Typer Shark! Deluxe
Sink your teeth into an action-packed educational adventure. Hungry sharks and piranhas are on the hunt for food as you SCUBA dive into the deep blue unknown. But if you can type words fast enough, they'll be zapped before they can turn you into lunch.

TYPE TYPE TYPE!
NOTE: Its been two years since I have played this game, and my operating system has not changed since then. I also do understand that this is an old game and one of Popcap's early games, this is only my experience. Last time I played this game, it was full of bugs and was not easily playable. It says I have 252 hours on the game and that's because when I closed the game, I would still be running in the background, forcing me to close the game within Task Manager EVERY TIME. It would also never save my progress whenever I did do something, though im not sure if it was intentional. Also, you could probably just get the game for free elsewhere, as I do own many other Popcap games that are not on Steam. Love the idea of gameplay, im sure others would have fun, but is not for me. Also, I might give it another go sometime soon, I have gotten better at typing altogether, and might change this review. 4/10 Good game, but buggy.
I can see why people grew up playing this game. my only nitpick is that i cant screenshot anything here but thats with all the PopCap games anyways
Honestly I wish their was a "meh" option instead of just thumbs up or down. If you're purely looking to learn to type this game is probably for you. If you just enjoy typing games, there isn't a whole lot to this. If it's $1.99 or less it's worth it. 5 bucks is a stretch. Needs achievements or something. Maybe it's more of a challenge for people who don't type 120+ wpm... idk lol. It's an alright typing game. There are far better ones: Glyphica, The Typing of the Dead, Epistory to name a few.
Holds up after 20 years! Still wicked fun, 100% worth a couple bucks.
An absolute 2000s computer lab masterpiece that is still the gold standard for typing games—if you can get it to run. Before PopCap Games went on to conquer the world with Plants vs. Zombies, they built Typer Shark! Deluxe, an absolute masterclass in turning an educational typing tutor into a high-octane, adrenaline-fueled deep-sea adventure. Firing it up instantly triggers an overwhelming wave of nostalgia, from the iconic retro sound effects to the low-budget, charming underwater aesthetic. You play as a scuba diver descending into the deep blue sea, forced to aggressively type out words appearing on the sides of incoming sharks, piranhas, and jellyfish to zap them before they eat you. The raw gameplay loop is beautifully paced and incredibly satisfying, successfully tricking millions of kids into learning proper home-row touch-typing form while genuinely sweating over a keyboard. The game package still holds up as a phenomenal training tool, offering an incredibly robust Tutor Mode to build accuracy, a narrative-driven Adventure Mode full of ancient shipwrecks and giant mechanical boss fights, and a brutal, endless Abyss Mode that pushes your words-per-minute limits to the abs…
