About Under Observation
Under Observation is a first-person, single-player horror game developed by a group of students from Kajaani University of Applied Sciences. In-game you are a researcher working at a Bioweapons R&D company, focusing on national security. You've been given a subject which you need to study and fill out a report on. Now the subject has escaped its containment and the facility is on lockdown. The only way out is to open the main blast door with a staff keycard but unluckily you lost yours and need to find it. The rogue subject is a dangerous entity so you need to dance a fine line between avoiding it and following its every action to gather intel.
Research focuses on the behavioral patterns of the subject. The aim is to figure out the subject's perks and abilities such as sight, hearing, and diet. As you gather intel the subject's main type becomes more evident. There is a total of 20 different subject types. When you are confident about the subject's type, the research is completed. Some perks are more subtle such as genetype, which gives out no visual clues. Instead, you need to take a sample off the subject and run that through various experiments. Some terrifying variations of the subject are also able to turn completely invisible.
You have many gadgets at your disposal that are used in the experiments. These include things such as flashlights, dart guns, tablets, and photo cameras. Guard post has a CCTV monitoring station which you can use to locate the subject. Between the main corridors of the facility runs ventilation ducts that are accessible and great for hiding.

"A week ago they brought yet another subject to be analyzed. I believe this one was grown at ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ . The report we got from them suggests that subject's 4th development stage had an evolution score of 4.6. This means that the behavioral patterns need to be mapped thoroughly before commercial deployment can even be considered.
It may never fit that mold, but that big of an evolutionary jump must be investigated.
The subject is now located at ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ , where it is to undergo ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ . All required documentation on the said operation can be obtained through intel management. As the facility's security system was newly upgraded, the procedures/experiments with an SR of 3 or lower can be conducted by just 1 person on-site

3.1 This is a kind of rare I guess 'abandon' from me. The game itself is okay, I understand that it was a student project. It takes a lot of it's core from similar aspects of things such as Phasmophobia, albeit this is a purely single-player game. I just couldn't 'beat' it and never quite did a successful guess (The closest was because I mixed up the light preference thinking 1 was prefers light and not 3). The opening 5 minutes or so is the same every time, get to reception to turn off the alarm and then get to the monitoring (safe) room and see the monster has escaped. Then a monster from a set pool will spawn that could be blind, deaf or have specific light preferences. It's your task to test things and discover what kind of monster you're against from the journal and then get free. Testing for food preferences, blind and deafness are fine. It does seem like the blind monsters are a bit easier in general as crouching makes you completely silent. I got much further with the blind ones than I did seeing ones. Part of the possibilities of research is to take samples from the monster/metastasis and take it to laboratory. But the only way to get to laboratory is to go the…

"Under Observation" is a basic lowkey Unity asset flip, a basic first person horror/jumpscare adventure game slapped together with a bunch of stock Unity Marketplace assets. One of many thousands of these on Steam, and this is not one of the good ones, from the poor translation, shallow and limited game scope, and the flipped assets aren't even good ones. What do you do in the game? This SCP themed first person horror game has you wandering around a creature lab environment thing with an escaped creature. Hunt or be hunted... boring. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was delusionally charging $10 USD for this!! Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure.
