"Banana Cowboy" is just another student project dumped onto the Steam store, one of thousands. It's from University of Texas in the USA. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" games, we must still question what value they have for gamers. This isn't a fully fleshed out game. It's the result of an academic exercise and has much more limited value than a professionally developed game. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments. It helps their marketing and makes students feel good, but it puts the business before the needs of gamers. The students made an unambitious and rather poorly constructed 3D console-esque platformer where you control a banana cowboy with a grappling/swing mechanism... there's only 4 levels and they're all plain and the whole experience is shallow. Yeah, its cute, but a sideways thumb is in order here. The camera is pretty atrocious and the controls never feel that great. Once you get used to the quirky mannerisms of both, then you start enjoying this quirky game. I despise time-based achievements, so after seeing the "beat the game in 20 minutes" achievement and taking more than 10 minutes to beat the first level I threw in the towel.1 found this helpful
A finnicky camera can't dull the sheer charm of this game. Really looking forward to the next game!
Free, great, love it and love voicing over the characters very much, love that you reached out, so glad i get to try out this amazing game, much love, TomFSG
Not certain if it's just me but the whole game seems a little broken, let alone the controls.
Cute short platformer game, though the controls can be a bit wonky at times, but hey! it's free, and it is bearable once you get used to it so nothing much to complain in my opinion. I like the fruity puns, and also the cute comic strips scenes! 7/10!
