First of all, there's some *suspicious* art in this game: a few paintings as well as the cover art. However that's all that I caught and the game is pretty fun otherwise! It's a shame! It's also Russian voice acted, which is no problem except for the couple of instances where the English subtitles just never popped up. The voice acting and the writing seemed real but I don't speak the language so I can't definitively say - That's the problem with using a machine to create some of the art and not making an effort to be honest about it. I'd rather give a neutral review here because the GAMEPLAY is fun, but I know I wouldn't have paid for this after reading this review - it's too much of a red flag.2 found this helpful
Veins of DARKNESS is a first-person psychological horror game developed and published by Langonier that builds its experience around fear of the unknown rather than constant confrontation. The story follows an employee who travels for work and is assigned to stay in what appears to be an ordinary rental home. Before long, the quiet accommodation becomes the center of terrifying supernatural events, forcing the protagonist to search for answers while trying to survive an increasingly disturbing series of encounters. The premise is simple but effective, allowing the game's atmosphere and pacing to take center stage instead of relying on an overly complicated narrative. The game excels at creating an oppressive mood through its environmental design. Every room, hallway, and forgotten corner is crafted to encourage caution, with dim lighting and unsettling details that constantly suggest danger is nearby. Rather than overwhelming players with relentless jump scares, Veins of DARKNESS uses anticipation to its advantage. Strange sounds echo through empty spaces, subtle visual changes keep players questioning what they have seen, and the feeling of being watched rarely disappears. This s…1 found this helpful
Totally recommend. The length is just right for a game where you can't save. That is a big plus! The game play is varied with puzzles that are just right... it is actually fun to play. Yeah, you could be a little picky here and there and I'll admit some things noted in other reviews can be rather irritating but not too bad. Solid 8/10 in the inde horror game category.1 found this helpful
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ My flashlight might have gotten stuck in the "ON" mode but I had a blast! I hope our guy gets a break from work, or at least a raise https://youtu.be/5019NYZHP3w1 found this helpful
It's not a strong title and could use some translation tweaks but it's passible for an hour play at $1.49. The "Evil Santa/Candy Cane" title logo has nothing to do with the game.
This game was good but it could have done with more subtitles as I didn't understand anything that was said due to there barely being any subtitles.
