Bright nebulae and fast paced combat make you forget the daily grind, while the soundtrack whispers: no cyber pilot can resist

Hot garbage, final level is a COMPLETE JOKE. This person tried to create an "old school" NES type game and instead of tweaking it to make it fun he just figured I'll make it as hard as humanly possible and include enemies with schizophrenic attack patterns and teleporting abilities so they can swarm you and waste your time dying over and over again. I played through most of the game on hard and like most bad games it has "last level syndrome" where the game will send wave after wave of enemies whose attack patterns you cannot predict with checkpoints that are far too stretched out. This dev seemed determined to waste as much time of the player as humanly possible, never give you enough health or powerups and making your main gun a slow shooting pea shooter piece of ♥♥♥♥. Avoid if you hate games that don't care about fun and are just hard for the sake of being hard, that's not what escapist entertainment is supposed to be and I'm glad all these insanely hard games are left in the past they're god awful just like this one.

pretty simple nuclear throne-lite shooty thing but solid and appropriately goofy

Venusian Vengeance is a retro-inspired action shooter developed and published by Renegade Sector Games that proudly embraces the spirit of classic arcade adventures. Built around an alternate-history science-fiction premise, the game transports players to a version of the 1960s where the Cold War has expanded beyond Earth and into the depths of space. The Soviet Union has established a secret research facility on Venus, and the United States responds by sending a lone operative, Sgt. John Dagger, to uncover a dangerous super-weapon before it can alter the balance of power. The result is a colorful and entertaining blend of science fiction, pulp adventure, and old-school action that feels like a lost arcade classic brought into the modern era. The game's narrative is intentionally exaggerated and filled with the kind of adventurous energy associated with vintage science-fiction serials. Rather than focusing on realism or complex political storytelling, it embraces over-the-top action and absurd situations. Players are thrust into an alien world where Soviet soldiers, strange Venusian creatures, hidden laboratories, and secret experiments all become obstacles standing between them a…
