Galactic Retribution Vol.1

The game starts by acknowledging that it's a homage to the old classics, so if you're a fan of them or old enough to have played them when they first came out, you'll already know what to expect. That said, there are still a few twists that make it feel more suited to modern audiences. What you need to do is familiar to anyone who's ever been interested in video games. You control a ship at the bottom of the screen and fire at an alien army descending from the top. The aliens move from side to side, changing direction whenever they reach the edge of the screen. With each pass, the army moves one step closer to the bottom. Every alien you destroy also makes the remaining army move faster. It's all fairly standard, except for a few twists that slightly change the experience. For example, the army might suddenly scatter, with aliens bouncing around the screen, or they might wrap around the edges and reappear on the opposite side. Four stages feature standard enemies, with the occasional surprise and homage to other arcade classics such as brick breaker or snake, while every fifth stage is a boss fight preceded by some fun banter.
