On the absolute base of it it's an okay game, but at every turn you get confronted with QoL issues that just make it not fun to play, whether it's a lack of volume adjustments, a lack of in-mission tooltips for abilities, missions taking way too long because of constant respawn, lack of a dedicated medic unit, difficulty ramps that mean against standard units you'll use your entire squad and still not take out one unit; how you get new equipment is entirely RNG, and there's no way of upgrading the equipment you already have. It's all just very tedious and not entertaining.

Well, at the moment game is no longer available on Steam - as far as I know due to licencing problems (I got it myself by redeeming some ancient humble bundle code). Nevertheless I can put a few good words about the game. Overal reception is good. Game is not very complicated. Some solutions could have been better, but game is nearly 10 years old and is port from mobile, which explains some problems. Pro game: +quite simple tactical game + lot of equipments options and marines options, from tacttical through devastators to apothecaries (I did not get one yet, but already dropped some equipment for this class) +possibility of developing team by repeating earlier, more simple missions + system of advancing the marines, with simple system of perk and traits as well as improving their stats. What is on minus: - game is port from mobile, minus microtransactions. This mean, that to get one box with equipment and new marines you have to play five missions (each gives 20 money with box costing 100). Ofc. as I said above - this has some advantages, byt in the long run might be simple boring and frustrating. - assault marines - in normal games they have advantages of jet pack. He…

Not great, not terrible. The biggest problem is honestly achievements being broken.
