They say friendship comes about when two people complement each other. In Weakless, this is not just a mere observation about interactions, it’s a very palpable thing. Lead two characters – one without the sense of hearing, the other with no sense of vision – through a beautiful, organic, fantasy world filled with challenging puzzles. Use the extraordinary set of skills they’ve developed because of their disabilities, and witness the growing bond between these two very remarkable companions.
The beauty of a true friendship.
In Weakless you can control only one character at a time, which means you can’t use the senses of both of them simultaneously. Because of this, you get a unique perspective on how differently they perceive the world around them and at the same time how the two support and complement each other. Deaf being his usual “whizz in a pinny” brings joy to the slightly defensive and introverted Blind. While Blind on the other hand, with the power of his calmness, takes care of the ubiquitous Deaf.

Not bad at all! A simple, pretty little puzzle platformer with two interesting protagonists and a lovely sense of environmental aesthetics. You play as both a tall, strong blind creature and a short, deaf creature (look, they don't really have a name for their species as far as I can tell) whom you will switch between with a button push; one can push and pull things as well as play musical instruments (just a collectible; it contributes nothing to the gameplay) and the other can beam energy to activate certain objects as well as sketch and draw scenes/landscapes/characters (again, it's just a form of collectible that has zero gameplay impact). Together you will navigate a strange jungle world full of toxic pollution and environmental puzzles (and later physical puzzles in the ruins of cities) attempting to.......destroy the source of the pollution? Maybe? Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks of the game is its weak narrative. An obvious passion project, seeking to step into the trail blazed by such gems of codependent NPCs as The Lost Vikings, and ending up in Cleveland. Pros: * Interesting worldbuilding. * Good concept. One char is blind except echo-location & is strong, the other is mostly deaf and can climb things. Cons: * Both chars move at a snail's pace. * Game is shoooooooooort. Not worth full price. * Lore (eg: characters' relation to the mural NPCs) is hinted at, but never explained. NOTE: * HUGE LONG-LASTING FLASHES OF LIGHT at the end level. Would I buy it at full price? No. It's a unique experience but it's short (and sweet). The art style and sound design are amazing; it's all quite beautiful. However, I just didn't find the story interesting enough to save it from a lackluster replay value and fun. It was enjoyable at first but the mechanics did start to get old, especially with how slow you move. The last act is great and really ties things together, but I don't think I could justify a higher rating. Short Game that creates a nice atmosphere. This game is nice for kids! The cons are, that its really short and the AI sometimes does stupid things. I would recommend it for a price of 3€ or less.
Really intriguing, especially since there's no dialogue. A bit confusing at some parts, but I think it's worth playing.
