World Zero

It's a short but enjoyable game. The combat is simple and easily exploitable, but the writing and characters are enjoyable. I'd say I'd enjoyed my time with this game, even if it is still in beta and thus is rather rough around the edges.

This is a pretty good game for a beta, the world is a bit small and some part of the world seem like they could use some expanding but it's still seems fun none the less!

World Zero is a small-scale turn-based RPG that puts accessibility and storytelling ahead of mechanical complexity. Created and published by Ashton Chiu, it has the unmistakable character of an RPG Maker project, using familiar genre conventions as the foundation for a strange journey involving parallel universes, a dying world, mysterious technology, friendship, and increasingly unsettling threats. Rather than trying to overwhelm players with complicated systems, it presents itself as an easy-to-understand adventure that can be approached by newcomers while still offering the exploration and party-based progression associated with traditional JRPGs. The story follows Shouta Kitano, a boy who unexpectedly falls into a parallel universe because of a watch connected to his missing father. The world he enters is gradually being consumed by the Black Mist, immediately giving his situation greater importance than simply finding a way home. Shouta must transport a core to an underground facility created by his father, with the hope that completing this mission will save the world and provide a path back to his own reality. World Zero is a short yet fun game with great characters, art and dialogue. I 100% recommend it, especially since it's free.
