Players appreciate the core gameplay loop of fixing and upgrading cars, finding it satisfying and relaxing with good multiplayer potential, though some note it runs well even on lower-end systems. However, the game suffers from significant early access issues including frustrating progression locks that gate essential tools and parts, confusing mechanics like fuse replacement, and missing features that were advertised, creating a disconnect between promise and delivery that undermines the otherwise engaging experience.
Still feels like a pre-alpha, 0 animations whatsoever, so when you're "fixing a wheel", for your friends you're just stood there starring into space. Good concept, awful delivery1 found this helpful
its not half the game Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is. it seems like its tailor made you keep you in the game until the time is up for a steam refund. what it does have is multiplay and people underestimate how hard that is to pull off. it scratches a multiplayer itch but its just missing anything that would keep me or a friend from playing it for more then 20 hours, its a weekend throw away game for sure. actual mechanic work you can do 5-10 paint and body work 0-10 its so hands off you might as well just pick up a phone and hire it out to AI points of interest 0 no junkyard no race track no car shows no auctions no barn. id wait for this to be on sale TRUST ME IT WILL BE ON SALE
Great game, looking forward to some new updates hopefully coming out soon.
At the the of this post this game was in Early Access and it definitely has it's bugs.... keep that in mind prior to purchasing, but overall this game is very fun and helps with grasping repetitive (and maybe even mundane) tasks of an ordinary auto mechanic and might even help those to appreciate what goes into fixing or repairing a vehicle!!
I was looking forward to this game back when it was still in beta. I was thrilled when it finally came out, and I’m really enjoying it. However, I’m not sure about those two windows on the computer—the tow truck service and the car buying option. I don't know if I need to unlock them somehow or if they’re coming in a future update; that’s actually something I’d like to ask about.
It is a really addictive and chill game, the only downside I have seen so far is. The vehicles don't have drive trains, nor do they actually have a rear nor front axle; so it concerns and confuses me on how they drive.
