It's hard for me to say this as a huge Alice soft fan, but this game is just not it. The story isn't particularly interesting, the protagonist is a self-insert, and the RPG portion of the game is just hold ctrl while you autobattle. Yes, I know autobattle is a new thing for the remaster but there was so little skill variety that I can't imagine not autobattling. If you're really looking for Alicesoft deepcuts after Evenicle/Rance, better off with something like Daibanchou. The girls are cute and the soundtrack is phenomenal, as expected of peak Shade

I would give this a middle thumb if it existed. The early 2000s urban fantasy anime vibe is something I really like and there's a lot of that...but it's fairly bland. Despite the playtime, it's a whole lot of dungeon grinding...especially if you dont use the Modern Setting (I highly recommend this unless you love to grind, the dungeons are mind numbing after a while). The game had the potential to be much better than what it ended up being. You're a part of a school club that secretly fights demons of unknown origins during night time, either inside seemingly endless randomly generated dungeons or sometimes outside during a special period of time when normal people are completely unaware? This game is like Persona 3 from Wish, except that it actually came out before Persona 3! The premise of the game has serious potential, but every aspect of the game is so undercooked that ultimately it's a bit of a disappointment. As a Visual Novel it's not good because the story is too short, the plot is half baked which means most of the characters aren't developed enough (I think the only good character is Kyouka), the routes aren't all that different, the artwork is subpar (monster designs in particular are simply terrible)...As a game, it's poor because the dungeon crawling gameplay gets mind numbingly repetitive and boring, game balance is completely out of whack on higher difficulties and requires an incredible amount of grinding. Probably the most "normal" Alice Soft game I've played so far. It's pretty much a standard JRPG with no sign of the usual silly atmosphere. I don't mean that it's bad, just different Another thing worth mentioning, the game has a pretty small amount of h. I saw like 2 random scenes and 2 scenes for the heroine I chose. That might surprise someone who decides to play Yoru ga Kuru after something like Evenicle, Toushin Toshi, or Rance Speaking about the game itself, its gameplay loop could use some more variety. If you aren't a big fan of dungeon crawlers like this, you might end up hating the game at some point since you just repeat the same thing over and over again. Overall it's alright. The story itself isn't too special and the world building left more to be desired which is honestly disappointing since the ideas present within the game starts off interesting but falls short due to being surface level at most and isn't elaborated on further. What made the experience enjoyable for me personally were the characters; mainly the female leads (Alicesoft never misses on this category) and some of the male leads (not all). I didn't enjoy the main character but it's mostly just due to me having a bias against bland self insert mcs. His introduction felt like bait in a way that would lead the reader into thinking that he'd have more nuance but alas, that isn't the case. I didn't have any problems with the main heroines as each individual "route" helped in establishing their characters while delving into who each one of them are and their place within the story, with some having more prominent roles in the grand scheme of things while some (or honestly just one of them) not being completely relevant to the story itself but still establish themselves strongly as you go through their respective route.
