About Yomawari: Night Alone
Guide a grieving girl through a transformed town haunted by spirits as you hide, evade, and puzzle your way through the darkness to uncover what happened to your missing sister and dog. This atmospheric adventure combines survival horror with emotional storytelling, where every shadow could conceal a supernatural threat and every clue brings you closer to a mystery that will change everything.
But when she steps foot outside, she realizes that this is not the same town. The darkness has made the town unfamiliar, and she appears to be utterly alone...save for the spirits that stalk her. The girl must hide from, outsmart, or outrun the hunting spirits while she searches for clues to find her loved ones.

I'd rather poke my eyes out with a rusty fork. This game is garbage, no mistake. While I sort of got used to the controls and gameplay to begin with, by the time I was in the school with the so-called incinerator boss, suddenly my controls went haywire for no reason. Tried to restart the application and a whole bunch of my progress was missing. To be fair, the whole save system is a joke on here anyway. The only hard saves seem to be made by finishing chapters - here I am bumbling around the school getting hammered by some dog with a human face. the little save statues are obviously only temporary saves that do not actually save if you have to restart the app. Honestly, don't get this unless you like to torture yourself. It could have been a decent game but the menu, controls, and non-existent save system are too rubbish to ignore. Quick-save shrines would be fine if my controls didn't go haywire and have the MC jerking around like a sudden bout of epilepsy. But judging from other reviews there are likely still more problems I haven't touched upon yet to make it an even more hateful experience.2 found this helpful
This holds up pretty well. I haven't played this game in years but it's still a really fun time. I will say, this game is a very slow burn, if you dislike that sort of thing. There is a lot of wandering, and very minimal direction. The game is also 'heavily' trial and error. Expect to die a lot, and I mean a 'lot'. There are numerous traps and spirit patterns and habits are rarely explained at all. None of this bothers me or detracts from my enjoyment of the game, but I know it will for many players so it's worth pointing out these details. Another thing, this game is not optimized for modern pc's, a lot of people, myself included, have issues running the game without getting it to crash. There are solutions on the steam forums that worked for others... the one that worked for me was a suggestion from one user there who suggested the 4GB patcher from ntcore.com. It's a simple usable file that let's you patch any game to use 4gb visual memory instead of less, like older games tend to do. This fixed all of my problems perfectly. I could play the game with no lag or crashes, in fullscreen or windowed, in any resolution I wanted with no more fixes.1 found this helpful
impossible to start to start the game. it crashes instantly. tired every fix, the best i got was windows 98 mode but it crashes anyways after 5 minutes or so. this has been a known issue since 2016 ish, please fix1 found this helpful
The true horror of this game is not knowing when the game will crash and set you back 4 hours of progress.1 found this helpful
I had no trouble playing this game back in 2023 but going back to 100% it in 2026? Nonstop crashes after a few minutes of playing. I spent an hour trying the various fixes in the guide section and online, nothing worked. It's apparently been a problem for most of the games lifespan on steam and the devs don't care enough about the game or it's players, who spent money on the game to fix anything. I may try to come back to the game again because I really like Yomawari but in the meantime don't waste your time and money.
I've played this game multiple times in the past, but recently when I tried replaying it kept repeatedly randomly crashing during the intro segment. And so far everything single attempt I've tried to fix it has failed. So unless the devs themselves has made it clear that they've fixed the issue I don't recommend buying this game. Which is a shame because otherwise I like it.
