About FluxWerks

✦ AI summary

FluxWerks is a factory automation game where you command nanobots to reshape a fully destructible procedural world and build continent-spanning industrial complexes from raw resources to quantum processors. It combines total creative freedom in voxel-based terrain manipulation with deep logistics simulation, dynamic fluid systems, and heat management across massive production networks.

Master the Terrain. Automate the World.

FluxWerks is a factory automation game set in a fully destructible, ever-expanding procedural world. Combine the creative freedom of voxel-based building with the deep, complex logistics of a grand-scale factory sim. Carve out your empire, harness dynamic fluids, manage heat and engineer your way from early resource gathering to managing a continent-spanning industrial factory.

Key Features

Total Voxel Freedom: Every block in the world is modifiable. Strip-mine entire mountains with excavators, carve massive underground bunkers, or build sprawling platforms over or under oceans.Deep Automation & Logistics: Design intricate assembly lines using high-speed belts, pipes, and specialized machinery. Automate everything from basic iron smelting to advanced quantum processors.

Keep track of everything:
All production statistics are tracked on building level over time.

Dynamic Fluid Simulation:
Harness the flow of water, oil, lava, and a variety of other industrial fluids. Use them for power generation and chemical cooling. Beware of building too close to active volcanoes, as a sudden lava eruption can quickly consume your factory.Nanobot Swarm Technology: Your primary tool is a swarm of nanobots. Command them to deconstruct terrain, harvest resources, and 3D-print structures.

Expansive Procedural Exploration:
Venture into a vast, uncharted world. Use scanner to locate rare ore deposit, or dig deep to tap into endless subterranean veins of Gold and Uranium—and perhaps uncover other secrets buried in the depths.Tech Tree: Progress through multiple technological eras. Unlock new recipes, buildings, and capabilities to continuously upgrade both your factory's efficiency and your power. The Computing Layer: Optimize your factory with high-performance computing. Overclock your factory for extra efficiency, but the heat management of your computer clusters is a challenge.Large Scale: FluxWerks is designed to handle immense complexity. Watch thousands of items flow through your factory simultaneously as your production grows from a single drill to a global network.

✦ AI summary

FluxWerks offers unique factory automation mechanics like heat management and 3D verticality that appeal to veterans of the genre, backed by an exceptionally responsive developer who actively incorporates player feedback. However, players are divided on execution, with some praising the chill vibe and exploration, while others find the building system frustrating and clunky, particularly the camera controls, belt placement mechanics, and slow construction nanobots that feel tedious compared to other automation games.

After hundreds of hours in Satisfactory, few dozen in Factorio, and another hundred plus in random other factory / automation games, this one drew me in due to a few unique concepts like the heat management and the pollution / farming combo. ~14 hours in so far. And I'd say it's decent. If you like the automation genre, you'll recognize a lot of the trends / problems and solutions. I personally love the fact that this game also involves a level of verticality that 2D games lack. Edit to add: The developer is super responsive and actively taking feedback into consideration. Join the discord, leave some questions / comments / concerns, 95% chance he gets back to you on it. I've seen a few signification patches in the 3 days I've been playing the game. Love to see that level of back and forth with a player base. A few minor gripes: 1. Ore scarcity has been the bane of my playthrough. Securing ~40k deposits of the big 3 (Iron, Copper, Coal) and automating the first two research packs, ran out one by one while I was trying to secure a more reliable source of sand. 2. The belts / logistics so far. I haven't unlocked Drones, but running belts all over the world is less straight forward …

Excellent voxel game! Lots of things to do, lots of map to explore. Very responsive developer who is present on STEAM (yay!) and the other thing (Discord - boo!). Looking forward to seeing how this develops, so far I am very impressed with the logic of the game and the smart ways of doing stuff. Played the demo quite a bit and then bought the game as I was happy with the way the developer is going with this. Plus, DIGGING!

As much as I tried, I think I'm gonna take a break from this one for a while... After more than 13 hrs, I don't think I'm as advanced as I should be.. hehe The game is totally worth it, buy it if you like these types of games. I think I played it wrong on this first run. I followed the tutorial (I'm at the pre-circuits steps now) but I spent LOTS of my hours flattening the area to make a big flat base, digging trenches to get my belts from the ore patches. I think I spent too much on that and not enough advancing in the tech tree... Too much of that time was just waiting for the really slow nanobots to do their work.. I see in the tech tree that there are soon boosts for speed and qty of nanobots.. but like I said, I think I tried too hard to make a big foundation and didn't focus enough on the tutorial and tech tree advancements. I might want to blame my years of Factorio because of this LOL. BTW I am no speed run player (obviously!) Things I like: - While it took me a while to get used to it, as anything new and different is, the UI is quite nice and well designed. (I scaled it to 1.3) - Tutorial (up to where I am) is well done. I especially like the parts in the te…

ive never had a more miserable building experience in a game, i LOVE automation games more than anything, ive played factorio, satisfactory, and many more games of the type for years and still to this day this game has the most infuriating, annoying, clunky, building of any game i can possibly think of, it realeased recently so i didnt mind, but then i i open the wiki and its all just basically roadmap talk with nothing that a wiki should have either. again i love automation games, truly, but this is so insuferable to build in, so clunky and just not fun to build or play i cant recommend it, it does have potential to become a great automation game but good lord please work on the game and let it BE good.

I like the idea, but the camera controls/movement is really annoying. I find myself fighting the controls to move around the map properly more than anything. This is my primary complaint with the game. Additionally, the belt system is rather annoying to use. I am not sure whether it's just not good, or I am just unfamiliar with how it works, but I couldn't find myself to care enough to figure it out. I fought the automatic connections and sloping every time I was trying to run a belt. Also, even though I had the resources available, the nanobots just wouldn't construct the belts I was placing down. If I hovered over one of the belts to see if it was missing something (like other building plans do), it just said "empty". Lastly, while the UI does feel nice, it definitely feels like AI either assisted with it, or fully designed it. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely has that feel.
