Twin Mirror

No offensive but I found this game boring and depressing. I had to uninstall it.

A short mystery game, Twin MIrror had mixed reviews at the time when I was looking to play it. I did notice a lot of complaints pointing out it's boring or not spectacular. I agree to a point. It isn't exactly mind blowing, but it has a decent story, interesting narrative, and it's still entertaining enough for me to have finished it. I don't think a game always has to be mind blowing to receive a positive review. I would certainly recommend it if you're looking for a short fun mystery game with a nice setting. It also takes place in a middle of nature small town if you are seeking that vibe. Only issue I really had was using a controller objects weren't always interactable unless I changed angles. Also, I don't know if I somehow missed how to do this, but I couldn't seem to speed up some dialogues. While I enjoyed the dialogues, some of them I would have preferred to speed up on voice. Other than that no real issues.

It is an okay game with a short story. The controls definitely need improvement, as clicking on options consistently feels clumsy and inaccurate. Overall, it is worth picking up, but only during a big sale.

Straight up, do not play this game. I was excited to try playing this game after I saw it was Don't Nod doing a classic detective piece, but it lacks the core elements of what makes a detective story good, or even fun in the first place. A bad mystery is excusable by good characters and bad characters are excusable by a good mystery. This has neither and the build up to each plot point was either completely out of left field, or in the case of the final mystery, entirely too predictable from the first moment of introducing the character. The Mind palace segments, while interesting in concept, fail to meet the grandiosity that I had hoped, and the real world portions are dreary in a way that makes the game look boring. I have seen dreary environments done well, I even prefer them in stories, such as in Last of us part 2. But the environment felt like every single color pallet you see in a cop serial made post-covid. If this game wanted me to feel a need to play to get all the multiple endings, it would need to change a few things. First, add back the portions of the game that were cut to allow for the build up of loving the town to happen naturally, and two, make the core con…

The story is good, the envoirement is beautiful, but the save files could have been developed better because you can't fast forward all the times and if you want to 100% the achievements you have to sit for the whole game all over again
