Not entirely sure why this title only has 'Mixed'ratings - I've played and adored all of the Life Is Strange games thus far, and this one was no exception. I see some review complaining about the story, but I found the narrative and thematic elements of Max's continuing journey to be profound, compelling and abeautiful new thread in her story. From writing to direction to the new motion capture and the truly remarkable voice acting, this is an easy game to fall in love with. Please don't let the negative reviews sway you; if you have enjoyed previous titles, this one is sublime, and any more time spent with Max is an honour. Thank you Deck Nine Games for continuing a series that is so special, and special to me. <32 found this helpful
It's good, but not like the first two games1 found this helpful
I don't think I have ever written a review this long, but as someone who has played this series since the very first game was released, I had to get a few things off my chest. Please do not read below if you have not finished the game. * SPOILER WARNING * - I have never been more underwhelmed by the story writing before. New powers? Okay great start, I am totally down for a change. Being able to go back in time was fun while it lasted, and I'm always down to testing new waters. However, what I did not like was the fact that we are making a ghost busters squad by having other characters also have powers. It went from solving a murder mystery to just having an additional character go power-tripping in the end, for me ruining the whole crime-solving thematic - which, surprise surprise ended up not being a murder mystery in the end. I think that during the 4th chapter the game just lost track of what we're trying to do because we have a shapeshifting maniac running around. (Yes, by the tone of my typing you can clearly get that I did not agree with Safi in the final chapter) - Romance options: Same as true colors, and similar to my review there, the game is literally hinting you to…
The story is great, but the dialogues are better. The ending felt very satisfying, so I fully recommend this one. Max's frustration builds until she actually makes the choice I was hoping her to, and what happens next is truly the beginning of a great saga. Can't wait to play the next one!
If you like the Life is Strange series, you'll like this one too. Max is refined and matured, the characters are great, the story starts slow but has a good twist. The only criticism I'd have is that the ending kind of whimpers out a bit. It's not bad, just feel like it could have been stronger.
It's kinda weird playing this crossover thingy. But I kinda like it
