Delivery from the Pain:Survival / 末日方舟:生存

Just started playing this game tonight. So far i am loving this game. I am playing it on the steam deck and it plays great. Game should be listed as steam deck verified. I am a big fan of the zombie/survival horror genre and so far i am impressed with this game. I usually don't care for top down games but i am making an exception for this game. in my opinion i think this game is far better than project zomboid. The controls are easy to understand and game play is smooth. The only thing missing from this game is good voice acting. There's no audio dialog, the game uses subtitles. I prefer audio dialog over subtitles but in the case when there's no good voice actors available to play the roles then it is far better just to use subtitles instead. I've seen good games get ruined by bad audio dialog. I am glad that the dev chose to go the subtitle route vs getting some bad voice actor to do the audio dialog and ruin this great game. Also i am glad that this game was made single player. I feel like the single player mode in games was dying off but i am glad to see that it's making a come back.

This game is a surprisingly enjoyable blend of survival, crafting, exploration, scavenging, and zombie combat. At first glance, it may come across as a low-budget title with a somewhat generic story and a lot of similarities to other games in the genre. However, it quickly proves that it has its own ideas, charm, and unique mechanics, which do a great job of drawing you into the world and its story. I genuinely enjoyed my time with it and ended up putting around 40 hours into the game. Considering I picked it up for just a few dollars during the Summer Sale, it was an absolute bargain and provided a lot of fun for the price. Overall, I feel this game is seriously underrated. Its reviews seem considerably harsher than the experience it actually offers, and I think it deserves more recognition from players who enjoy this type of game.

Overall, I liked the game. The gameplay seemed repetitive: you go to a location, collect items, bring them home, and so on, all the while gradually progressing through the story missions.
