I have to give the team credit, this is a faithful port of the original. Unfortunately, this is a faithful port of the original. The nostalgia doesn't hold up for this one. This game is very much a product of its time, which means questionable design choices and hit or miss gameplay. If you enjoy the new Xcom games and don't mind pre-2000's games, you may enjoy this. Here's a list of my pros and cons. Pros: - A good variety of weapons and wargear. - Generous starting stockpiles of critical weapons, ammo, and grenades. - New weapons gathered through gameplay, some of which are insanely good. - Character veterancy/leveling up - Multiple squad types, each with their own unique benefits, and downsides. - Large pool of pyker powers, and the freedom to customize a librarian. - Unlimited healing packs, thank the emperor. Cons: - The RNG can be incredibly brutal (hence my reference to Xcom earlier) - Arbitrary limits on unit/squad types until certain points in the game. Storywise, this makes some sense. Gameplay-wise, it just feels like pointless limits due to bad game balancing early on. - Vehicles are utter garbage. Don't rely on them for anything, and good luc…3 found this helpful
