About Prologue: Go Wayback!

✦ AI summary

Prologue: Go Wayback! is a survival exploration game where you navigate toward a distant Weather Tower across a procedurally generated 64km2 wilderness that's completely different every playthrough. With no quest markers or guided path, you must read maps and compasses, manage hunger and temperature against dynamic weather, and forge your own route through an unforgiving landscape where every decision determines whether you survive.

Explore a new world every time you play

In Prologue: Go Wayback! no two journeys are ever the same. A brand new 64km2 world is generated on your PC every time you start the game. Our in-house machine-learning technology empowers our artists and designers to create a system that lets you generate billions of beautiful, natural worlds that are waiting to be explored.Chart your own course through the rugged terrain toward the distant Weather Tower. How you get there, and whether you survive, is entirely up to you.

Embark on an adventure to overcome the wilderness

Dynamic weather and time of day shape your every decision. Rain can soak your clothes and drench your fires. Thunderstorms can wreak havoc on the terrain. Blizzards bring snow and the danger of hypothermia.Forage for edible food, seek sources of drinkable water, and chart your path from shelter to shelter.

Your choices, your world, your story

No guides. No markers telling you where to go next. Just your instincts, your tools, and your choices. You will need to read your map, use your compass, keep an eye on the sky, and adapt to the terrain and the weather if you want to survive. Will you stick to the valleys, searching for shelter? Or climb the ridges for a clear line to the Weather Tower? Will you brave the storm at night, or hunker down and wait it out?Your story is what you make it.

✦ AI summary

Prologue: Go Wayback! is a straightforward survival game that challenges players to navigate unfamiliar terrain and manage resources with minimal guidance, creating a strong sense of accomplishment when escaping successfully. Players praise the hands-off approach and environmental storytelling, though they report frustrating technical issues including crashes, collision bugs, and performance demands that can severely impact enjoyment. Most who get past the technical hurdles find it worthwhile, though the game demands patience, map-reading skills, and tolerance for repeated failures.

Straightforward single player survival. No overly complex storyline or 4000 side quests. You're tasked with making it to an escape point where the environment is your main enemy. Figure out what plants are safe, how to navigate, and what equipment is worth your time. A single run takes 2-6 hours depending on the complexity of the map and how often you need to take shelter based on your equipment. You start off with very minimal protection from the elements and can gather upgrades as you go. Each run has a different map, limited information, and random weather patterns. It takes a few attempts to figure out the controls and equipment limitations, there are no weapons or hunting. You are going to poison yourself with water too close to foraged plants and die of hypothermia repeatedly. Good for casual gamers who are just looking to disassociate from reality for a few hours at a time. I wish more thought had been given to the controls and tutorials on things like cooking, telling time, or what plants are available. Very easy to lose equipment to glitches or waste resources while cooking. Overall, a good challenge level for casual gamers, with the option of a more difficult or simple o…

So, I don't know where to start! This game is so unique. I love how it doesn't take you by the hand and show you how to do everything, it's all about you. Can you read a map? Can you use a compass? Can you successfully manage your resources and find your way? It's all about you and your skills on these matters. And every time you manage to escape the feeling is just pure satisfaction. Now , there are issues of course, bugs that put you or your items on the ground ,once my pants bugged in the ground and I needed to go from hut to hut in the snow to find another pair, or some times my run is amazing and I get stuck between rocks in a mountain and I have to give up, BUT despite all these little things, for me this game is TOP and I can't get enough of it. I wish that the devs work a bit on the bugs and then I can totally picture this game in my top 10 ever.

what can i say what a good game this is not only just a walk sim style game but u got to use your sence of direction very carefully...the bad bits is there is no indicator to show you where to go except useing your map there is no time clock to show what time it is .. the game is very good as you have to stop in every cabin you can find to stop hypothermia and keep yourself dry and eat and drink to survive.....the concept is very good and well made a very solid game...be nice to see ano6her game in this fashion wtg devs ty
