Features

CONTROL THE FOUR ELEMENTS - Skewer enemies with spikes of earth, fry them to a crisp with a heated fireball, impale them with ice shards or just send them flying with tornados.

CHOOSE HOW YOU MOVE - Have you ever wanted to truly experience flying? Then with the push of a button take to the skies and fly between buildings, among clouds and avoid birds and airplanes. Got a fear of heights? Not a problem, as a superhero you can move at super speed and get anywhere you want to go. Just don't forget that you can also teleport if need be and scale large buildings through your super jump!

INTERACT WITH YOUR ENVIRONMENT - With your super strength you can lift a variety of objects within the game. Did your neighbor irritate you? Park their car somewhere else for them... that same car can be used for pitching practice or even a hammer to take on that pesky thug who keeps trying to attack you.

DISCOVER THE TRUTH - You weren't always super, so it's up to you to find out why the world seems to be going through this chaos. Meet your three support characters, General Barclay Whitehill, Dr. Ernest Giorgio and Chieftain Aulani. These three will work with you in uncovering the truth behind the meteor showers and guide you as you take on your newfound challenges as a hero. Prepare for a fun and engaging story.

IMMERSE YOURSELF - With the combination of the comic book art style and original audio, prepare to get lost in the world of First Impact: Rise of a Hero.
Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2 and Windows Mixed Reality
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/fReyhS7OOOs First Impact: Rise of a Hero was an ambitious title that started out in Early Access. It's supposed to be a game where you live out your superhero fantasies in VR. Sounds great. Unfortunately, what was released out of Early Access was a broken, buggy game where instead of feeling like Superman, you feel like Mr. Glass. Game doesn't even load properly. I had to do a Windows 7 compatibility fix to get the game to start, otherwise it crashes on startup. Also, the controls are awful. It makes the game all but unplayable on the Oculus Quest 2. That's why I had to switch to Windows Mixed Reality where the controls were better (it seems this game was only tested on the Vive), but the controls still felt unresponsive. Look, I'm not going to list all the problems with this game. It would make my review too long. You can look at my video if you want a sense of everything that's wrong with the game. I'll just say the controls are unresponsive, the quests and combat are super simplified actions with pop up texts that are difficult to read. This game was…

This game is broken! I don't know what happened to it between 2017 (when all the positive pre-release reviews were written) and 2020, but something did and it broke this game. You can't interact with objects/characters in any way (this got me stuck within the first 10 seconds of the tutorial) as there are invisible barriers that prevent you from getting close enough to do so. I ended up restarting the game completely. This did not fix the problem, it just compounded it by skipping the tutorial completely and landing me in a black room with a grey scale character model and a blank text box. The model was moving as if he was speaking but all I could hear was the wave sound effect that had been playing the whole time. So I restarted the game again. This time the game just threw me into the "world", no explanation, no tutorial, nothing. There were two characters in the building with me, but I couldn't interact with either one. I went outside and got attacked by some robots which I somehow defeated with my various powers which were equally underwhelming and confusing to use. I really wanted to like this game. The description is very interesting and if it had been in any way playable I…

Junk. Ridiculous. The controls are atrocious, the GUI stupid beyond belief. As low-poly and ugly as the world is, it is nonetheless hopelessly lifeless. And the tutorial must be painfully decyphered and advanced step by step. For example, it tells you how to grab and throw an object, it waits for you to grab and throw an object, yet there is no object to grab. Hence you can't progress. I gave up 1 hour in. In the tutorial.

The controls are so bad I couldn't actually get past the tutorial. Refund-fodder.

First Impact: Rise of a Hero is an ambitious independent superhero adventure that centers on fulfilling one of gaming's most enduring fantasies: becoming an unstoppable protector with incredible powers. Rather than grounding its world in realism, the game embraces the colorful spirit of comic books, placing players in the role of an ordinary person whose life changes forever after mysterious meteors begin striking Earth. These unexplained events awaken extraordinary abilities and set the stage for a journey that gradually uncovers the larger mystery behind the catastrophe. While the storyline follows familiar superhero themes, it remains engaging thanks to a cast of allies and mentors who help shape the protagonist's growth while introducing new objectives and revelations throughout the campaign. The game's greatest appeal lies in the freedom it gives players to experience life as a genuine superhero. Traversal is exceptionally entertaining, allowing players to soar through the skies, teleport across large distances, sprint at remarkable speeds, or launch themselves high into the air with superhuman leaps. Every method of movement feels designed to emphasize speed and power rather…

It does suck 100% due to poor controls.
