Tales of Berseria™

Let the pretty lady be angry, already.

The story is a refreshing take that doesn't seem to be explored that much in the genre. The main heroine is a bona fide villain at first but eventually develop into a well put character. The theme of emotion versus reason is also an interesting venture, and it makes sense that Japanese would want to push this scope further, as the individual in Japan is often repressed for the greater good of the society. In short, it was extremely good, some emotional moments that made me cry. There's some anime trope but it all mesh well together. Gameplay is a mixed bag that may or may not be everyone's cup of tea. There's so many spell and they all seem useful in some sort of situation, yet you can only bind some of them at a time which can be really annoying when fighting some monsters or bosses, as it would break the flow too much to constantly change the Arte setup just to cover current monsters weakness. The only way to cover multiple weakness would be to change character, but it requires learning and configuring multiple arte setup for the sake of "playing the game properly" and comboing. What will most likely happens is you use Arte that stuns instead in order to gains souls and prays …

Absolutely amazing story. I grown attached to the cast and I believe the ending wraps everything nicely. Velvet is an amazingly written protagonist and Cristina Valenzuela deserves and Oscar for her voice acting. The combat isnt the defining feature for me but if you like action based gameplay i believe its mature enough to satisfy most players. The OST isnt anything to write home about . but there are a few bangers especially the opening sequence. If you are new to JRPS and like action based combat with a rich story i highly recommend Tales of Berseria

Great tales game

very repetitive combat and so much grinding but the character chemistry and skits are peak. Best party banter ever.

JRPG slop. I like my slop western.
