On one hand we have: A technical mess, a more miss than hit gameplay, a story so awful you remember it for being awful, environnements poorly recycled all the time, barely any storytelling, a washed out antagonist... On the other: Absolutely incredible musics that I still remember 11 years later, some potentially interesting lore, Zaveid <3 and a pretty good art direction that is, sadly, a bit too shy. With bad ingredients, you can't get a good final result. Zestiria is exactly that, it cannot be salvaged, but the product is playable and some will enjoy it. I'd rate it a shy 11/20

Horrible game imagine choosing to play this over Berseria, or in fact any Tales of game. Genuinely so bad it makes Arise looks good, idk what the developers were thinking only good thing about this game is Edna, and even then her story is garbage. 0/10, shouldn't even be a Tales of game

Not for me.

I wanna like this game, I really do. I loved the anime and I love tales of Beseria and Arise. I honestly just can't with this game. The story so far is good, the game play is as buggy as it can be. This game could really use a remaster to fix all the bugs and to make it actually enjoyable. To give credit where credit is due, the music is amazing. For the state to game is in now, I'd rather watch the anime.

I hate dubtitles, if you enable Japanese audio the subtitles are not for the Japanese audio, but instead for the garbage English dub. If I buy a US game, I play in English, if I buy a JP game, I expect it to have proper subtitles, not dubtitles. It breaks immersion hearing them say what is quite different from the subtitle, and it breaks immersion hearing English instead of Japanese.

This was my introduction to the series in 2020 and I loved it so much since then I played almost every game in the series. To this day this is one of my favorites. World feels strangely large and has a great atmosphere. Music is fantastic. Characters are very likable. Graphics are outdated for the time in sense of polygon count, texture resolution and effects but game looks very nice with sharp colorful art style so it has no problems with art direction in my opinion. 30FPS lock is bad.
