Super Robot Wars 30

Recommended if you want to read some insane crossover fanfiction with decent-to-good characterization of your faves from one of the featured series. NOT recommended if you want a tactical RPG that is even remotely challenging or engaging and not just a dull, mindless slog.

After spending about 13 hours with Super Robot Wars 30, I can confidently say that it has been a very enjoyable experience, especially for longtime fans of the SRW franchise. The game does an excellent job of celebrating the series' legacy while remaining accessible to newer players. One of the biggest highlights for me is the animation quality. Watching iconic mechs unleash their signature attacks never gets old, and the battle sequences are full of energy, detail, and style. The large roster of characters and units is another major strength. There is a great variety of series represented, making every stage exciting as you continue to recruit and experiment with different teams. What truly stands out, however, is the nostalgia factor. As someone who has followed the Super Robot Wars series for many years, seeing so many beloved characters, robots, and references brought together in one game feels like a celebration of everything I love about the franchise. The crossover interactions are entertaining, and the game constantly rewards longtime fans with memorable moments. I would highly recommend SRW 30 to both veterans and newcomers. I'm gonna be honest here and say I know nothing about most of the mecha animes featured in this game much less watched them aside from Magic Knight Reyearth, never was into mecha animes all that much but this game is pretty fun especially if you're a fan of TBS games where you can choose the mechas you want to deploy into the battle. I'm only on like I think chapter two and doing most of the side stories atm so I haven't gotten far but I will say you'd best go to akurasu.net for a flow chart to see what you need to do in order to unlock a lot of the secrets which are either new characters and their respective mecha they fly or a new upgrade for a current mecha or even a new mecha you get at the same time as the upgrade. It is a fairly long game but thats to be expected due to having two routes you can take, either a Earth route or Space route where by mid-game they merge into one and you continue from there.
