In case you're wonding about the sudden negative ratings: A moderator on the Hearts of Iron Discord had an argument with and subsequentially banned a Turkish user that had an avatar of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, which then got picked up by some media as Paradox isulting Atatürk. Yes, it's really that dumb. And it has nothing to do with either the developers, nor the quality of this game at all. It's all about the Publisher. People reviewbombing every game of a publisher over Discord drama should be banned from posting reviews altogether.

It is impossible to play this game at all. The computer opponents mechs get to gang rape my crew at will. When I move one mech. my computer opponent gets to move and fire each of it's mechs for every single one of mine in two rounds my unit is destroyed. Steam will not give me a refund. this game is garbage. maybe if I didn't have to go bankrupt repairing my mechs after 1st encounter. After being wiped out 3 times in a row for same said encounter. P.S. I tried the 'custom campaign' settings so that maybe I could actually play the game on an easier difficulty. All this did was to allow my computer opponent to one shot me in every engagement. Now I die after the initial 'training' simulation, no matter what I do. this game is impossible to play solo.

BattleTech — Recommended BattleTech's highlight is its tactical depth. Every engagement makes you weigh heat, armor facing, positioning, and ammo, and when a plan comes together it's deeply satisfying. Fair warning, though: the game is brutal early on, and you'll be scraping for C-Bills through most of the campaign. A friendlier on-ramp would likely have drawn more people in. A few missions also tip too far in the AI's favor; I think they're meant to build tension, but they land as frustration instead. The budget shows, which is understandable for a Kickstarter title, and I'm just glad it was finished. The comic-style story panels are fine, but real cinematics would have given the campaign the gravitas it deserves. Without spoiling anything, a few key moments desperately needed a proper cutscene to close out their chapters. The gameplay itself is solid. It's not a 1:1 tabletop translation, but no video game is; if you want tabletop, play tabletop. Know going in that this game isn't about speed. Most missions run 30 to 45 minutes because that's how its turn-based mechanics work, so if you need quick five-minute dopamine rounds, this isn't for you. With all that said, I still lov…

Whoever picked that fat useless pile of garbage the Bull shi--I mean Shark as the end game prize mech for this game's DLC campaign. You have bad taste and I want to fist fight you. Wasting my time.

one of the best tactic game on steam for sure , even if mech might not be your prefered setting
