Landinar: Into the Void

This review is mostly for friends of my account who look into the games I've played, so to other players it's not much new being added in terms of why I'm not recommending this. I bought this game way back in 2019, not sure if it was post EA or not, but I had maybe 15-20 hours into it when I had to drop it because of bugs. Like, an incredible amount of bugs; some of them were trivial like repeating dialog and poor translation from the dev's native tongue, Dutch, but there's a significant amount of game breaking bugs as well: - character getting stuck while on-foot in the map's geometry (like realizing you can walk up a slanted crate and then getting stuck on top of it because the game doesn't let you fall off ledges) - mission related NPCs either not appearing where they should or entire ships vanishing/not blowing up when their HP is reduced to zero - progression through missions randomly get soft locked because something in the back-end didn't have a variable changed correctly I could go on but that's not the point of this review; simply put, if you're a casual gamer and don't want to deal with the hassle of bugs of this frequency, I wouldn't get the game. !!!! Game is worth it for $2.89 !!!!! Game is absolutley not worth $28.95AUD. If you love this genre (space, top down 2d), if you like Drox Operatives or Spaz you may enjoy this game. I am really enjoying this game, but being only lvl 2 ship barely left the first sector; the amount of annoying bugs is just insane. The game at face value feels like decent quality; everythings clean. But the more you play the more you see that EVERYTHING is buggy. You also realize that despite being 'options' there is very much a 'lack of depth' Bugs I have experienced: - Close button on "hacking" screen doesn't work, hit esc not even sure if I received the parts? (the whole raiding ships is a boring mini game with 'hacking' being the worst part). - Autopilot is dumb - Mixing thruster types on your ship has unknown benefit, sometimes ship speed feels slower, sometimes feels faster. - Docking is bad - Was given a quest to find some richard guy, found him. Delivered him, but he remains stuck in my cargo (perhaps until I clear the rest of the quest?), this quest should not even have been introduced at lvl 1, nothing indicated I would be going to a sector well above my level. - "highways" seem to hav…

Despite its Early Access death, it's a good game with solid mechanics and shipbuilding, and while it's definitely rough around the edges I've enjoyed my time with it. (Though I would definitely recommend waiting for a sale)

Such an outstanding game with profound potential and possibility in the open market, the team is still alive and well but has only resurfaced recently following financial issues in 2019 and 2020 splitting apart only coming back together recently as per there website. I hope with profound intent that they focus on developing there games further or make new similar games to play. GOOD LUCK DEVS YOU ARE FANTASTIC
