Squirrel with a Gun

This game is so stupid. But also, maddeningly compelling. But also, jank. But also, smart. If 'crazy like a fox' were a game. It's like if Super Mario Odyssey were a dumb meme game. Honestly, for much of the runtime, I had a blast with Squirrel With a Gun. It is the poster child for "better than it has any right to be." A lot of the underlying structure is pretty good, the level design and overall ideas can be pretty good, I enjoyed the sense of humor. The lows are very low. The two major bossfights are staggeringly bad, the game can be jank and busted and glitchy, and it's the kind of game where you might look at a guide once in a while, not because it "should be" necessary, but because you're wondering if something actually broke in some way that isn't obvious. Sometimes it's a 9, sometimes it's a 3. I will admit to being a fan despite the game's efforts to talk me out of it. 😉

An absolute must have for anyone who loves squirrels and/or wild and zany games. Plus the boss fights (and boss fight music) are surprisingly good for such a silly game.
