This isn't quite what I remember from back in the day, it feels like a remake of the old game I used to play on Y8. It looks cleaner and is much easier than the original version from my childhood. It's mid, if you want the exact nostalgic experience, I'd recommend looking for the Legacy version on Steam instead.

It's very fun, but it is a reboot, so it isn't faithful to the story.

Now when I say I recommend this, I don't mean to new people who've never even heard of it. If I am completely honest with everyone, there's better out there in terms of RPGs, but for someone like me who played the original, this is a swan song and I love everything about it. I love how it feels in comparison to the original, I love the new art style and I'm enjoying the story thus far. Problems with the game: - Combat is rudimentary and clunky - You can't switch elements without restarting the game to try anything else - Combat feels like a gamble on whether or not you're dead before you make a move, making every round feel frustrating, rather than a fun strategic challenge That being said, I love this game and I love watching it move from Flash.

funny how the free versions of Sonny provided more content overall than the paid version anyways i played it until zone 8, the enemies were too strong for my build so i didnt bother completing it. the game wasnt even all that fun, just trying to beat it to see what the story was about and when i gave up i just go on to youtube and watch other people beat it to see the ending. did i have fun playing it? yea but if other people asked me if they should try it i would just tell them to play the 1st and 2nd versions of the game and if they wanna see the story just watch it on youtube

At least this Sonny has ending and has multiple strains unlike the animated one.
